concerned about your cellphone battery running out while your in the middle of nowhere and at the most inopportune time. fear no more. simply tote the concept green solar power generator and it's associated 3'x3' solar panel around with you where ever you go and you'll never be without a few watts of zappage for all your electronic needs.
Tasting Britain got an invite to Mark Hix's Cock 'n' Bull Gallery / CNB Gallery to meet the fine people at Silent Pool Distillers. CNB Gallery lives underneath the rather East London, and rather hip Tramshed, on Rivington Street. For those who are unaware, the Tramshed is a restaurant that was once a power generator for the East End tram network (I didn't actually know there was a tram network but there you go). Now it focuses on casual dining (mainly stuff made with steak and chicken), and there you shall find Damien Hirstâs formaldehyde preserved cow and chicken, suspended from a high ceiling over the dining area. Itâsâ¦memorable, to say the least
Anyway, more about the gin: the Silent Pool Distillery, which was started by a group of friends, is located in Albury, Surrey - on the Duke of Northumberland's Estate, and the site of the Silent Pool. They claim itâs a sacred site, Iâm just not sure who holds it sacred. The Silent Pool has a bit of history and mystery about it. Much beloved of the poet Alfred Tennyson, itâs also thought to be haunted by the ghost of a woodcutterâs daughter, who drowned there trying to escape a man on horseback (possibly King John), sometime back in the 13th century. She can supposedly be seen at Midnight, perhaps waiting (in vain) for metaphysical closure?
Anyhow, they renovated what was a dilapidated farm, brought in a Holstein copper still and got cracking. The signature product is, obviously, the Silent Pool gin. Itâs a moreâ¦traditional tasting, juniper driven one, made up of 24 botanicals, and is the brainchild of Silent Poolâs master blender, Cory Mason (and his strong Victorian moustache). Cory holds an MSc from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling at Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh, and before he moved to the UK, used to work in New York managing various venues and making cocktails. Presumably he decided to up sticks and make GIN happen, and so here we are. The distillery is open seven days a week and people are welcome to come and visit (and I willâ¦)

In the foreground, a 5kW Honda generator. In the background, Port Washington Power Plant with two half-gigawatt combined cycle units. One might think that here in a city, overlooking a gigawatt of high-efficiency combined cycle generation, you'd be able to get a few kilowatts from that rather than setting up a little gasoline-burning generator. You evidently be wrong. Grid power is cheap, connecting up is expensive.
The Mark III series has a modular design and - unlike its predecessors - can be connected in series, fitting all your power needs - no matter if small outpost or large spaceport!
Across the fertile fields to Rum and Eigg, with Skye between them in the far distance. Muck is a very relaxing island with a population of 38 and electricity mainly obtained by wind powered generators. Often electricity has to be rationed and then is available for only 4 hours in the evening.

I guess rationality in action has that effect on me.
Btw, the republican national party sucks.

Another wind turbine displayed in Wakasu Park.
This one was displayed near the large wind turbine of the park, so it is shown in the picture. The whole figure of the wind turbine is shown in "Wind Power Generator in Wakasu Park".
The description by the wind turbine says that this type of wind turbine was used in 10th century Persia.
Visitors to the Goodman South Madison Library on April 5, 2014, were able to spend their mornings having fun exercising their minds at the Navigant STEM Fair. Kids and their families had the opportunity to investigate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, thanks to volunteers from Navigant, who organized and ran the fair in partnership with the library. Activities included exploring MG&E’s Pedal Power Generator, a Lego Robotics demonstration, the “Science of Goo”, dissecting an owl pellet, creating a battery using food, an an electricity demonstration. Windmolen De Nieuwe Palmboom in Schiedam, naast de destilleerderij. Deze molen is van binnen voorzien van een turbine en kan daarmee stroom opwekken. Een nieuwe molen in ene oud jasje dus. / Windmill De Nieuwe Plamboom, next to the distillery in Schiedam. Inside this mill contains a power generator to produce electricity. A modern mill in disguise
Massive C-124 Globemaster aircraft of the Georgia Air National Guard's 165th Military Airlift Group were able to quickly move emergency power generators, food and equipment from Savannah to areas impacted by ice and snow during the winter storms of 1973.
Pictures taken by the late Jim Sharrocks, a former Works Engineer for CPA at Strines, of the vertical steam engine power generators. The Print Works used steam and hot water for the printing and dying process, so the steam engines were in use from installation in the 1920s until the works closed. Most power was DC to power the machines, but one set has been converted to AC when more modern motor contollers were introduced. The engines were 2 cylinder compounds, and ran in near silence, in sharp contrast to the Mirrlees Diesels that I was working with
