Rather nice surprise to find that it had snowed overnight. Still so cold that the snow is complete powder!
Bathroom reno from May 11 (demolition day ) to July 31, 2023
Good-bye '90s! Last look at a dated half-bathroom on the main floor, before it gets demolished and redone. Oak vanity w/pink arborite top, matching wall cabinet, sink and toilet are original to the house, which was built in late 1991. Updates since then consisted of Mirage engineered oak floorboards in 1996, walls re-painted "Muskoka Dusk" by Benjamin Moore in 2005 and new faucet and outlet covers in about 2013. Only the outlet covers, halogen light fixture and hardwood floor and baseboards are staying.

L'Alpe d'Huez is one of the main mountains in the Tour de France. The climb is 13.8 km at an average 7.9 per cent, with 21 hairpin bends. It was first included in the race in 1952 and has been a stage finish regularly since 1976.
The race was brought to the mountain by Élie Wermelinger, the chief commissaire or referee.[1] He drove his Dyna-Panhard car between snow banks that lined the road in March 1952, invited by a consortium of businesses who had opened hotels at the summit.[2] Their leader was Georges Rajon, who ran the Hotel Christina.[3] The ski station there opened in 1936. Wermelinger reported to the organiser, Jacques Goddet, and the Tour signed a contract with the businessmen to include the Alpe.

This is Powder Hole, one off the ‘holes’ or inlets on the South Gare of the River Tees estuary.
This is the smallest and less well known, the other two being Guys Hole and Paddys Hole which is the best known.

The Powder Tower a main entrance into "Old Town Prague"
This was also the place where the coronation processions of Bohemian kings would enter the town. The Powder Tower thus marks the start of the Coronation or Royal Path to Prague Castle.
Construction began in 1475 and halted in 1488, probably due to the fact that the royal residence moved from the Old Town back to the Castle. Further construction works were only started in 1592.
Today’s name Powder tower has been used since the beginning of the 18th century, when the tower was used as a gun-powder storage place.
The Powder Tower is 65 m high, the observation gallery is 44 metres above ground, the spiral staircase is made of 186 stone steps.

Two speedlights on 1/2 power in one silver umbrella, quite high (~ 2,5 m), 45° to the model. Why did we use two speedlights on half the power instead of one on full power? Makes them faster ..., to freeze the flying colored flour. The umbrella was half-collapsed to concentrate the spotlight.

Chefchaouen's powder-blue buildings mirror the cloudless Moroccan sky - but religious rather than stylistic reasons are behind the design choice. Jewish teachings suggest that by dyeing thread with tekhelel (an ancient natural dye) and weaving it into prayer shawls, people would be reminded of God’s power. The memory of this tradition lives on in the regularly repainted blue buildings
