The product was dark brown molybdenum dioxide powder.The reduced molybdenum dioxide powder is rereduced by hydrogen in a tubular resistance furnace. General reduction temperature is controlled in 850 ~ 950℃, the product is gray metal powder,In industrial production, roasting and primary reduction are also combined, and the temperature is controlled at 500 ~ 600℃. Molybdenum powder with high purity and fine particle is usually prepared by reducing molybdenum chloride with hydrogen.

My own little popgun. I call it Little Monster. Bruce made the barrel ages ago and I made the carriage. After the torturous journey to the range (not recommended for trucks without positraction!!) I was disappointed to have 3 misfires in a row! Each time I could walk a few feet, retrieve the lead ball and reload. Bruce saw my difficulties and had a go himself and we had a 4th misfire! After that he gave me some of his powder and Little Monster barked with the best of 'em! FFG Pyrodex let me down but black powder worked a treat. Weird.
