Powder shading is a sketching shading method. In this style, the stumping powder and paper stumps are used to draw a picture. Now a days few people use this method, because it is time consuming and work of patience. I learnt it from great Marathi actor and artist Late Mr. Chandrakant Madhare .He was a legend artist in watercolor landscapes and powder shading portraits. Initially I made few portraits in this medium. From which one of them is here.. with tribute to Mr.Chandrakant Mandhare Sir!.
This shoot was inspired by the work of Darren McDonald and Solve Sundsbo. I conducted this shoot in an open field so that i had lots of space to throw the powder into the wind onto my model. I styled her all in white to create a blank canvas for the paint so that the patterns created just by using the wind.

The Powder Tower or Powder Gate (Czech: Prašná brána) is a Gothic tower in Prague, Czech Republic. It is one of the original city gates, dating back to the 11th century. It is one of the symbols of Prague, leading into the Old Town.
The gate was used to store gunpowder in the 17th century, hence the name Powder Tower or Powder Gate. The gate suffered considerable damage during the Battle of Prague. The sculptures on the tower were replaced in 1876.
