This piece was created digitally as well. I took a picture of myself on the beach and developed my original idea of just staying on the beach, and placed myself in a picture I took of a rainy street. The contradiction here is between the locations. This represents some sort of rebellion, and not conforming to the usual actions. Even though the woman is placed in an uncomfortable location for herself, she continues to radiate good vibes. Artist Alexandra Valenti inspired these patterns too. I used triangles and psychedelic shapes around the body with vibrant colors that are also complimentary (orange and blue) with warm and cool colors. I only wanted the patterns to stand out and have the rest of the images to be greyscale because I wanted to emphasize the concept of the positive vibes she is creating.

In our Town Hall meetings, we want to give them a chance to connect with each other, but especially aim to enable new faces to join our community of forward-looking people and institutions. Focused on a variety of topics and open to anyone interested, these get-togethers give the opportunity of expanding professional networks and building new connections.

Since the beginnings of media arts, artists have been integrating technology into performative settings, but also theater makers have always been keen on experimenting with new technologies. Over the years, museums, theaters, performance venues and cultural institutions showing these types of performances have gathered expertise in how to enable and facilitate these works, which is often challenging on a technical and practical level. In this Town Hall Meeting, culture professionals as well as technologists and technology providers are invited to exchange knowledge and experiences and make new connections.

Molly was trapped in Canarsie, Brooklyn where she lived with a colony of true wild cats and a couple of friendly cats. The ferals were returned to the colony after being spayed or neutered and we're finding homes for the "friendlies". Bide-A-Wee, and City Critters have taken in some of our adoptables, but Molly tested positive for feline leukemia. As she is older and not showing any symptoms, we're hoping to place her in a home with other healthy positive cats or with an experienced cat person. She's a playful sweetie and deserves a chance at a real home.

This is an example of an instant perception blocking the mind's ability to explore alternatives. In this case the instant perception is that most people imagine a surgeon as a male; this leads to the conclusion that either the surgeon or the "father" in the car crash was not the boy's real father. If you switch your perception to allow for a female surgeon then the answer is suddenly obvious, the surgeon is the boy's mother. Most people imagine a surgeon as a male, but in this case it is the opposite! Lateral thinking is the method of switching perceptions to allow the alternate view point.
