G.H.O.S.T. action figure Isetnofret
Position: Mummy
Age: 2,543
Nationality: Egyptian
Education: No formal education
Skills: Enhanced strength. Cannot be permanently harmed by conventional small arms. Can exert strong influence over weak minded individuals. Magical abilities limited to small spells.
Relevant Information: Mummified alive for displeasing the pharaoh and cursed with immortality, the young concubine Isetnofret remained buried in an unmarked chamber of a minor tomb for centuries before being excavated by agents of Rising Nacht. Miraculously untouched by grave robbers, the tomb and its contents had survived virtually undisturbed. Everything was smuggled out of Egypt to one of Madame Monster’s labs in Eastern Europe. Once there, the sarcophagus was carefully opened, and the scientists noted that only some portions of Isetnofret’s body had deteriorated. As they began to unwrap the body, they noted her one remaining eye was open and focused. She quickly ripped free of some of the wrappings and attacked everyone within reach. It took the combined strength of Fusion and Arthropod to subdue her. Her mind had been shattered by centuries buried alive, and even M’Elig’Nen’s telepathic powers were not enough to re-organize her fractured psyche enough to return her to sanity. Madame Monster saw her power and her singular desire to inflict pain and suffering on others as it had been inflicted on her, and brought her in to the Rising Nacht, despite her wildly unpredictable nature.
Psychological Profile: Beyond sadistic. Revels in the pain of others, even allies. Enjoys influencing weak minds into self-destructive behavior. Great difficulty with linear thinking with a very tenuous grasp of reality. Given to massive mood swings and easily angered. Extremely violent when set off.
I saw this Mallard in the creek near my house, I have never seen a duck hold the wings up like this - he never put them down while I was watching.

via an IM from current boss...
"did so and so (contract co ) get a hold of u?....yes...good....i wanted you to have the most time available...."
.

no reason
no explanation
no real advisement from him....

so.....i put out emails to various directors in org....saying i was aware they had open recs for contractors....& would appreciate talking with them before I actually leave....
(easier to slide over to new job ....than get rehired in).....
.
not the traditional way to go about contract positions....
but what could it hurt?
.
it worked......i interviewed Tuesday.....got offer Thursday.....accepted a new contract in another dept.....thru the first of the yr.....initially it was only to be 90 days.....
but they will be hiring to fill an open position first of the yr.....
wouldnt it be nice to learn that position....train during the contract time & get hired when freeze is up......
cross fingers....
it would be really nice to be a FTE.....with BENEFITS!~....hello health insurance... =)

An overview of a hypothetical surround gaming setup, created and rendered in Google Sketchup. The screens are each 10' x 10', and the ball in the center (representing a viewer's head) has a 1' diameter. In reality, as long as the nearest point on the wall is far enough to be comfortable, you could scale the screens up or down and the view would be the same -- a 6' x 6' setup positioned 3' from the viewer would probably be fine, and would be more likely to fit in a typical gaming room.
The perspective of the screenshot makes the sides and top look distorted, but if each screen was rendered at exactly 90° (both vertical and horizontal) using traditional rectilinear projection (this is how almost any game you can find renders the view), a viewer in the center of the room would observe a perfect, non-distorted image.
The floor is (badly aligned and) probably unnecessary, but I included it since I could. In most racing or flight simulators, the floor would just show useless bits of the cockpit anyways, and it would take a lot more effort to make panels you could walk on to get in and out of the rig. You could always put a plexi-glass or steel-mesh floor above the screen, but it's probably not worth the trouble.
The actual Sketchup model also has a rear panel that's currently invisible. If you put the rear screen on a sliding door mechanism, you probably could end up with a full-surround setup. However, for my purposes, I would just setup the top, left, center, and right screens and call it good.
Strategically positioned on a corner that overlooks Clapham Common you shall find No 32 Old Town. Occupying the former site of The Frog, as far as we can see, the transition from boozer to bar restaurant has been seamless. French windows thrown open onto the street and a glorious roof terrace give No 32 a sense of space that turns out to be just perfect on a sunny day. Letâs see how it fares in winter.
As for ambiance - No 32 have gone for the filament lighting, open kitchens and 'stuff with tiles' that seems to be so popular these days. Theyâre quite keen to be seen as a âbar that does good foodâ (as oppose a ârestaurant that does good drinkâ), which is true in the sense that the restaurant area itself is quite small, most of the venue's floor plan is devoted to something that looks more like a pub. Itâs actually quite a lot bigger than it looks from the outside.
How about the food? In the words of another reviewer, No 32âs menu âplays it safeâ (on the main part) - focusing on pub staples such as burgers and steak - but there are a few notable curveballs it may be worth trying out (i.e the âWonky Vegâ Aubergine Curry or the Coconut Poached Chicken Salad). As for drinks, theyâve a very respectable wine list, an OK cocktail list (that focuses quite heavily on Old Fashioned) and a beer list that falls short on their promise of craft beer.
All in all, this place appears to have a very bright future ahead of it - the place was absolutely heaving around 8pm on a Thursday evening. Naaaaice.

How does the physical position of Japanese soldiers compare to the physical position of Chinese people and soldiers in the pictures? Give several examples.
What is the purpose of depicting the Japanese and Chinese so differently?
What do you notice about the clothing differences between the Chinese and Japanese? Why is this difference being made? What impression is the artist trying to leave with us?
If we were to simply base our opinion of Japan upon these pictures, what would we believe about Japan?
What other things do you notice?
