This slummy little building housed the only Jesus neon I'd ever seen, and I'm from Las Vegas.

Peacock Lane is a short three block stretch in SE Portland that started a lighting tradition in 1929. Multiple generations of families have come to walk or drive by the lights year after year to see the Christmas Spirit. Not the biggest nor brightest display, but certainly known locally. Peacock Lane was placed on the National Historic Registry this year.

portland Outdoor Store is a interesting looking place.

The Cultural Village was built on land outside of the original garden. It was intended to ease crowding on the garden by giving visitors more things to do.This building has a gift shop and an informal area for cultural demonstrations.
