Metal casting demo at TechShop Portland Grand Opening. Bud is casting an angle block and some flamethrower handles out of aluminum. We used the largest furnace which is capable of melting cast iron.
Tucked away on a quiet hill in Portland, the Portland Japanese Garden is incredibly well-crafted with trees, bushes, and water all carefully placed to create a peaceful park in which to walk through.
Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The light station sits on a head of land at the entrance of the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor, which is within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. Completed in 1791, it is the oldest lighthouse in the state of Maine. The light station is automated, and the tower, beacon, and foghorn are maintained by the United States Coast Guard, while the former lighthouse keepers' house is a maritime museum within Fort Williams Park.

A community event for all ages! Hosted on April 4th, 2015, Portland Day offered the local community an opportunity visit our new campus home, the Arlene & Harold Schnitzer Center for Art & Design, and to participate in some fun, free activities. We made robots, did some face painting, and had an awesome time!
Portland's train station is some distance from the heart of downtown but connects with major transit, cycling and walking networks to create a sensible, diverse and integrated mobility system in a city that is seen as a model for forward looking city planning and development.

• I had breakfast this morning in the hotel's dining room, overlooking their garden, a very pleasant way to start the day.
• Chef's Omelette: 3 eggs, breakfast potatoes, buttered toast, local jam; choice of three fillings (cheddar, sausage, mushrooms). Delicious, well-prepared, nicely presented.

-Whitewater rafted on the McKenzie River
-Visited and toured Bonneville Dam
-Hiked Bridal Veil Falls State Park
With a half days holiday to take I couldn’t think of anywhere else to go but to see my Mum and Dad in Weymouth. As always the camera came along too and as I was in the area, I could not resist the temptation of Portland Bill. The prospect of a half good sunset, with the fluffy white clouds soon turned into a grey blanket of cloud blocking out the sun, these are a few images that I snapped moments before.
