Located near the village of Carbost on the Isle of Skye, visitors can embark on a stunning walk from Glen Brittle towards the Fairy Pools.

The Fairy Pools is a popular hotspot for photographers and walkers, and is one of the most magical places in Scotland.

The beautiful Fairy Pools on the isle of Skye.

Wilbur is standing in the pools above Upper Calf Creek Falls. One can wander for miles in the slickrock. We didn't go far as I somehow forgot my water!

Another from the evening at the Fairy pools. A different location a little further up, no rainbow this time but I prefer this composition. The light was to get better still however...

Lots of water pools today.

Talsarnau or Talsamau is a village and community in the Ardudwy area of Gwynedd in Wales. Its population was 525 in 2001, and had increased to 550 at the 2011 Census. The village of Talsarnau is situated on the A496 coastal road between Maentwrog and Harlech, close to the hamlets of Eisingrug and Llandecwyn.

The Fairy Glen at Rosemarkie

Like Ireland, Scotland is full of enchanted places and fairy lore- fairy pools and fairy glens, standing stones and misty hills.

This is the Fairy Glen of Rosemarkie which is located on the Black Isle (actually a peninsula along the Moray Firth). You must walk for a mile or so through beautiful woodlands to find the spot and people leave little offerings for the fairies along the way so they won't become confounded and lost before they get to the falls. You are never allowed to see the magic straight on. You can only see it from the corner of your eye or with eyes partially closed.

If you believe this I have many more stories to tell you.

Not the most inspiring of the pools but the one with the least visitors on the day.

Good things to do in Snowdonia when it's cloudy - take photos of one of the many fabulous waterfalls!

This was taken during an early morning bimble up Cwm Llan on the south side of Snowdon. I imagine this is one of the more photographed spots in the valley - right by a very cool slate bridge. I'd spent a couple of hours further up the valley photographing other falls, but these ones really showed off the pools and their colour, given the underlying geology.

Taken at the estuary at Talsarnau.

Shapes in the water pools.

The Fairy Pools in Glenbrittle, Skye. We had fabulous weather during our two weeks in Skye, but on the day when we walked up Glenbrittle we were rained on. I would recommend the walk up the River Brittle but you need to get up beyond the lower section if you want to get away from the crowds! GX7_1070269.RW2. A clamber out across the rockpools exposed at low-tide at Birling Gap rewarded us with these golden views across the chalk cliffs. Ravens croaked on the clifftops and a Spitfire gently rolled overhead. A perfect early-Autumn evening,

I love blue more than any other color. I am inordinately attracted to any blue substance: to minerals like turquoise and lapis lazuli, to sapphires and aquamarines; to cobalt skies and blue-black seas; Moslem tiles - and to a blue flower whether or not it has any other merit. — Eleanor Perenyi

At the upper reaches of the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye and the scenery is just stunning. We stopped here, took our shoes and socks off and paddled in the cool waters of Allt Coir a'Mhadaidh. With the dramatic backdrop of the Cuillin Mountains it was a wonderful place to sit and relax.

What a gorgeous place this is! I could spend an entire day here, a shot of the fairy pools no the isle of Skye with lovely colours in the water.

Smooth it glides upon its travel,

Here a wimple, there a gleam –

O the clean gravel!

O the smooth stream!

Sailing blossoms, silver fishes,

Pave pools as clear as air –

How a child wishes

To live down there!

One of the final images I captured on my evening at Bandon Beach. As I searched for good subjects, I had walked a long way along the beach and had a tough time walking back to the stairs leading to the parking lot. But I kept looking back toward the sea stack to see if I'd missed any views or landmarks on the beach. Then I came across this rock and briefly thought about taking a photo. I was about to move on when I noticed the sky behind it turn a lot bluer. From experience, I knew the camera would capture any remaining sunset colors. I thought it would create a good contrast to see the sunset colors against the approaching blue hour. So I pulled out my camera and tripod and tried a couple of shots. My hunch paid off, and I loved how the light looked in this shot.
