30min after sunset and it looks like the best photo I've ever taken ))

English pointer.

"The Pointer combines athletic grace and power with a lean, muscular body, noble head, alert expression, and noble carriage" (National Kennel Club).

Taken in June at the Chatfield dog park. This pointer came to inspect the pointy black and white wet dog who was continously throwing a dirty tennis ball at me.

97 C 40019 Dennis Dart with Plaxton body

I was not the only one interested in capturing my wildlife subject. When I saw this beauty coming closer on the other side, I was completely taken by him or her, enough that I started to shoot this dog instead of my subject. It was the first time I saw a German Shorthaired Pointer, well I think that is what it is. Would love to take head shots of this very lovely animal some day.

Last of Ellie series..You can tell she goes to agility classes maybe she thinks she's still going over those hurdles! No photoshop on these she really did leap through the crops

Photographed here on Foregate Street, Chester is an Alexander Dennis Dart SLF 10.7m/ Alexander Dennis Pointer 2 operated by Stagecoach Chester with the registration S44ABC and fleet code 34819, which was new to Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire themselves in March 2006 originally booked as PX06DWE and is seen preparing to operate the 10:55 service 15 to Saughall.

Here in the above photo we have Arriva Buses Wales R608MHN 2108 a Dennis Dart 10.7M Plaxton Pointer 1 and T570JJC 0820 a Dennis Dart 8.8M Plaxton Pointer 2 we see both vehicles showing of the difference in body styles between the Plaxton Pointer 1 and 2 the vehicles are pictured here in a dull Doggelau Eldon Square working Traws Cambria Services X94 to Barmouth and X32 to Aberystwyth, Service X32 is no Longer operated by Arriva Buses Wales and now operates as Service T2 with Lloyds Coaches and Express Motors, and as from the 21st of December 2013 the X94 will now be Operated by G.H.A Coaches, both vehicles in the above photo are now Withdrawn from Service!

R608MHN 2108 was new to United as 1608 in 1998 with B40F Seating, and later Arriva North East 1608.

T570JJC 0820 was new to Arriva Cymru as SMC570 in 1999 with B29F Seating and later numbered 0820.

This Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart is Jim Stones replacement for the former BT Enviro300 which is currently at Blackburn being prepared for Howards Travel / Springfield.

Ironically, it started life with Stones before departing for Hornsby Coaches a few years back.

Whether this is a temporary addition to the Stones fleet is anyones guess. A cherished plate has been fitted though the livery is decidedly non standard.

L292USU was a 9m Dennis Dart / Plaxton Pointer B35F which was one of a pair bought new in August 1993 and is seen in Motherwell. William Stokes had began operating in the 1920's and provided miner's transport to local pits which along with two stage services based on Lanark provided a steady income for many years. In 1969 Stokes put their business up for sale as the services were struggling, but an opportunity presented itself when Whiteford of Lanark sold his service in 1970 which connected Lanark and Lesmahagow via The Clyde Valley. Sadly Stokes went out of business in 2010.

I put the camera on self-timer, with no flash, and I was inside in the evening when the light was low. I then pulled out the laser pointer and shone it all around the room - when the self-timer opened the shutter it captured the random patterns I was making.

Despite travelling across the UK for as long as I can remember, there was one region in England that I have not visited but only passed is the Potteries region in Staffordshire... The area covers Stoke-on-Trent which is a unitary authority and city; in fact Stoke-on-Trent was formed following the federation of six towns in 1910 and later gaining city status in 1925.

The six towns of Stoke consists of Burslem, Fenton, Hanley (the main commercial centre), Longton, Stoke-upon-Trent and Tunstall. The main operator within Stoke is First Potteries, a subsidiary within First Midlands.

Over the past decade, First Potteries has been seeing investment after years of neglect; it is one of the more eclectic of First's bus operations with a nice mixture of buses, but now modern and having experienced the operator first-hand, well-maintained interiors with friendly drivers.

Amongst First Potteries single-deck fleet which has been heavily modernised over the past decade, the subsidiary also operates two solitary Alexander Dennis Pointers, normally utilised on local services around Hanley. More often than not, they frequently appear on the 5 between Hanley and Abbey Hulton.

The two Pointers are easily distinguishable as they retain the first version of the Olympia livery, but their interiors are also non-standard... These Pointers originated from NCP Car Parks before going over to Melton Mowbray-based, West End Travel who were acquired by Centrebus in 2012. 43875/43876 were sold to Ensignbus by 2013 with First Potteries acquired them and where they remain ever since.
