Go North East's Deptford-based Transbus MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer 574 (NK53 TMZ), which carries Go North East's corporate livery, is pictured here at Park Lane Interchange, Sunderland, whilst working service 99A to Witherwack. 14/01/16

In October 2013, Go North East consulted with passengers on

proposals to change some services in Sunderland

North and The Boldons, for revisions to come into effect from January 2014.

As part of these service changes, services 36 and 36A were withdrawn. A new service, numbered 29, was introduced as a replacement for the 36 service in Town End Farm and Castletown, in addition to an improved X36 service through Downhill, Witherwack and Carley Hill.

Early morning connections were maintained by the introduction of service 99A, which runs twice a day on weekdays (04:55 and 05:55am) from Sunderland to Witherwack, and four times a day on Saturdays (05:10, 06:10, 07:05 and 07:35am).

Two years on, and by and large, the 99A service remains untouched, despite passenger numbers leaving a lot to be desired!

Boxing Day, and Wally and Julie the Pointers are taking a well-deserved break from going bonkers all round the garden. Wally (nearest) is only 1 year old. Julie is 14, and very much the boss.

Little Aida is a fox terrier and a rescue dog. She's a real pisser. =))

She has a class three occlusion... that is, her bottom jaw sticks out in front of her top jaw. Like a bulldog. I find it endearing.

Better on black, hit L.

First Cymru received 40 Transbus Pointer-bodied Darts in 2003 as a long overdue investment in the fleet.

Among these were three 11.3m Super Pointers fitted with six cylinder engines, numbered 750-2, and registered in Dundee by the vehicle manufacturer. They were for then Service 103 (Llandeilo-Ammanford-Pontarddulais-Swansea), operated by Ammanford sub-depot, which they served for a number of years. In the 2003 national fleetnumbering exercise, they became 43901/3/2, in registration mark order.

Having had a stint at Swansea Ravenhill depot, they transferred to Haverfordwest depot during 2017 for allocation to Service 302 (Haverfordwest-Johnston-Milford Haven-Hubberston), However, they were replaced by Alexander Enviro200s 44634-6 within a year, and moved on to Port Talbot depot. 43901 was withdrawn a few months back, but the other two soldier on.

My October 2017 shot was taken on the A4076 between Merlin's Bridge and Johnston, as 43903, still retaining her original foglights, shot past on a 302 journey to Hubberston.
