View from Monknash looking SE across the point towards N Devon coast and the Quantock Hills. The low light can been seen on the headland, this forms a leading line with the higher light ( not visible in this image) when viewed from the SE. Following the line of the two lights or keeping south of the line steered ships south of the deadly Nash Sands. The lights are 300m apart and there is foghorn between the two, just visible to the left of this image.
A very cold afternoon at The Point, Portsmouth, England.Too cold for a beer so I went to The Canteen by the Round Tower and enjoyed a very good caffe latte and some cake instead of going to the Still & West pub which is pictured.HSS.
Met up with Adam Randell at Point Cartwright. We had hoped for a few more clouds but maybe next time. There are some amazing rock formations on the headland.
Waiting for Z121 passage at the east-end of Pointe St-Charles Yard, CN L527 is catching some decent late afternoon sky while waiting to cross St-Lawrence River over 1859-built Victoria Bridge.

I am on vacation this week and I've been itching to get out and take some pictures! I recently photographed a bridal shower so I wanted to give my 70-200 f2.8 a rest and pull out my trusted 10-20mm f3.5 from Sigma.
The weather is going to be subpar for photography the next few days and it has been a while since I've photographed the sunset. Thus, this evening at Sandy Point was where I was heading off to. I lucked out greatly with the clouds and I'm very pleased with how things came out.

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve has often been called “the crown jewel” of California’s 280 state parks.
The theme for “Smile on Saturday” this week is “one point perspective”, so I decided to set up my favourite chess set read to go into battle showing one point perspective using parallel lines that lead us towards the background. The two opposing armies of chess pieces have created the effect of the lines merging closer together towards the background as they lead towards the vanishing point.
These beautifully created chess pieces behind it were all hand carved by my very gifted and clever maternal Grandfather in 1933. My favourite pieces in the set are the wonderfully carved Rooks and Knights. Over the years the wood in the white set has mellowed to a warm honey colour from the many games of chess that he played with the pieces. The black stain used has also withstood the many years of their use. The chessboard the pieces are on was also made by my Grandfather in 1952. Two chess sets, a draughts set and three chess boards made by my Grandfather were bequeathed to me as part of his estate when he died a few years ago.
Punggol Point Jetty is where many hobbyist fishermen play their hobby mostly on weekend. Opposite is Johor Port, Malaysia.
*Note: More pics of Sky and Scenery in my Sky and Scenery Album.
Even with the soaking and driving rain I was able squeak out a decent photo of the Point Betsie Lighthouse along Lake Michigan.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_Judith_Light
The Point Judith Light is located on the west side of the entrance to Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island as well as the north side of the eastern entrance to Block Island Sound. The confluence of two waterways make this area busy with water traffic and the waters around Point Judith are very cold and dangerous.
More sea defences at New Brighton. The tide was dropping fast at this point, so I only had time for a few shots. This was my favourite, where I got in close to the concrete structures to accentuate the perspective.
Another distinctly shaped and appointed lighthouse in South Africa.
This lighthouse is in Capetown itself, on the Green point shoreline which is on the approach to the harbour and docklands.
