The Point Bonita lighthouse sits on the tip of Marin County near the entrance to the Golden Gate Bridge
Decided to try the little ZV-1 that I normally use for video as a stills camera. It makes suprisingly nice and flexible RAW files and it is a ton of fun using such a small camera.
PS: Zac Bryan was amazing!
Another shot of the driftwood that litters the beach at Whitefish Point. On the horizon you can see Lake Superior Provincial Park in Canada. When I was younger we spent a week hiking along the eastern shore of Lake Superior.
The Point Arena Lighthouse, on the Northern California Coast.
This lighthouse replaced the original, which was destroyed in same earthquake George Lawrence documented in his pioneering KAP efforts; The San Francisco 1906 Earthquake.
This light has stood since 1908.
Unlike some lighthouses, this one looks better every time I visit. The docents, benefactors, and volunteers here are serious about their restoration and upkeep.
Do you think the wind blows here? Just look at the trees in the left for your answer. ( you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows -- apologies to Bob Dylan )
If you know where to look, you'll see the roll of duct tape I carry when I fly the Dopero.
I used a kite to fly the camera.

Collection of Porsche 924 and 944 photos. Gallery mainly from my father's archives from racing a 924 in the SCCA GT3 class and in NASPORT under the Porsche Model Club Meluzio Racing banner. The car started life as a factory Porsche D-production race car assembled at Al Holbert's shop. The car was updated prior to my father purchasing the car by Porsche guru Dave Finch. The car was previously owned and campaigned by Stefan Edlis. Gallery also contains a few photos of other 924 and 944 cars that either myself or my father have seen. Many of the pictures were taken by me personally or my dad. Some of the others were Gene "Roz" Rosintoski, Geoffrey Hewitt, and Dan Tooker. I also included a photo of the car in the video game Forza 4 as a downloadable and playable car. You can also see a really neat video showing the car in action at Summit Point Raceway. youtu.be/4FoC0tW8qYs
I met up with a few photographers in Santa Cruz for a photowalk on Saturday. We had a great morning shooting in the redwoods, but I wasn't able to stay for the sunset. I began the drive home on Hwy 1 and made a quick stop at the lighthouse when I noticed the sky collecting color.
Point Malcolm Lighthouse.
"Poltalloch Station" Narrung, South Australia. This spot would normally be about a metre underwater.
It is located in Marin County approximately 50 km (30 miles) west-northwest of San Francisco, California, USA.

Sunset from Mather Point, Grand Canyon National Park.
Each year millions of visitors to the Grand Canyon's South Rim get their first spectacular, panoramic view of the natural wonder from the lookout at Mather Point. At an elevation of 7,120 feet, this viewpoint overlooks Pipe Creek Canyon and the Inner Gorge of the Colorado River. From this point sightseers can hike the South Rim Trail, which leads west to Yavapai Point.
