Standing at this junction waiting for the pedestrian green man, I looked to my left and saw this postie also waiting to cross. I thought at first he was wearing ear muffs over his hat, then looked again and realised he was in fact listening to music — the 'muffs' were Sony headphones.

Sitting around listening to my headphones...plugged into a CD player cuz I'm not cool enough (or rich enough) to have an Ipod at this point....someday, when I'm rich and famous...heck, I'd settle for middle-middle-class and stable!!

Summer Breeze

"See the curtains hangin' in the window

These may be some of my last shots out this summer. Or at least some of my last discoveries for the summer, to be revisited in fall. This was my first explore with my wife, on a mini-vacation in Concrete, an old lumber town just on the west slopes of the Cascades, established way back when there was nothing west of the mountains aside from logging camps and small rural settlements. Definitely harkens back to the old days of Washington state. This was a random find on the side of the Mountain Loop Highway just between Concrete and Rockport. They're stripping the trees from this plot of land, so it's likely they'll be demo'ing the house soon. Glad we got to see it.
