I took this shot last June in a wonderful junk shop in Ontario. However I have never been able to process it quite the way I wanted. BUT I have now downloaded the free Google NIK collection plug in for Photoshop which has enable me to produce the vintage look I was after. Hope you enjoy my first attempt...

This pipe plug is a part of the underground plumbing system of a long extinct Volcano, revealed by erosion, more pipes from the same system are visible in the back. Interestingly, the lava raising up is not mixed thoroughly and composed two distinct types, one dark, the other light. These pipes feed a large volcano, most likely a cone like stratovolcano. The red sandstone of the Comb Ridge monocline stretches across the background.
I appreciate that dandelion seed heads are uploaded rather frequently on Flickr so I hope I've done mine a little bit different than the usual. The yellow on the right side of the photo is a dandelion in full bloom growing beneath this seed head so I wanted to capture that as part of the background. I took the photo in differing f stops to see what suited the best (and also to try and get away from f/2.8 which is something I use a lot) but despite the others having merits I liked the effect f/2.8 gave this particular photo. I'll no doubt upload one of the others in the next week or two so you can decide yourself. I used the new(ish) feature of Denoise on Lightroom Classic and I think it's a great feature to have there. Anyroad, I hope you like my little seed head. I'm rather fond of it I must say. 😊
Enjoy the rest of your day and great Fridays all round! 😃

The picturesque town of Stanley (population 553), sits below the amazing prominence known as "The Nut". This is in fact the plug of an extinct volcano that rises 143 metres above sea level. Stanley is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tasmania (when tourism is operating!). In the distance at the far right you can make out the huge jetty of Port Latta and the smelter, with the hills of Rocky Cape. In 2016 Stanley was converted to a film set for the historic movie, "Light Between Oceans".

We'll return to Stanley in a week or so.

I've exposed your lies, baby
The underneath's no big surprise
Now it's time for changing
And cleansing everything
To forget your love
My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living
Don't confuse
Baby you're gonna lose
Your own game
Change me
Replace the envying
To forget your love
My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living
And I've seen your loving
Mine is gone
And I've been in trouble
Last Sunday morning I looked out of the window at 05:30 and saw that it was foggy so I decided to head out for the sunrise. With all the rain we had on Saturday a had an inkling that the overflows on Ladybower would be running so made my way there, the water was indeed going down the ‘plug holes’ and also the reservoir was shrouded in mist creating a wonderfully atmospheric scene. I took a couple of pictures of the overflows but it was the valve house that really caught my eye perfectly reflected over the misty water.(Olympus EM-1 mkii 7-14mm f/2.8pro 1/10secs f/6.3 @ 14mm Kase Wolverine 3 stop reverse grad)

when quality mattered...every dial, every gauge, every switch, every flange, every bracket, every screw, without exception, it all mattered, nothing less than perfection!
Claude M. Cox's original Overland car was developed in the early 1900s by the Standard Wheel Company of Terre Haut, Indiana. The Overland Company was formed in 1903 by Mr. Cox and Charles Minshall but it didn't take off until John North Willys arrived in 1907. Mr. Willys was a New York auto dealer and a major Overland customer. He ordered 500 Overlands and paid a deposit of $10,000. After his product was not delivered, he traveled to Indiana only to find Overland on the point of closure. Wanting to recoup his investment, Willys secured additional credit and reorganized the company. By mid-1908 they were in a position to build a new factory. Production increased and by 1909 the company had moved to Toledo, Ohio. Willys eventually became president of the company.
From 1910 to 1914, the company produced only four-cylinder models and they were all right-hand drive. (The company began using left-hand drive in 1915). In 1914, Overland was the second-largest producer of cars in the US, behind only Ford. While the Model T appealed to the masses, the Overland was an upmarket model selling for approximately twice the cost of a T. The Overland was more spacious, more powerful, and larger than the FOrd and its four-cylinder engine had separately cast cylinder jugs. An electric starter was available as a $125 option in 1914.
Overland built a quality automobile that was advanced for its time. The early models had a removable ignition plug that prevents auto theft.
During the 1920s, Willys-Overland produced the Willys Knight, which was powered by the sleeve valve engine designed by Indiana native Charles Knight. During World War II, Willys produced the Jeep. Several modern Jeep models pay homage to their Overland roots with the name of their top models wearing the 'Overland' nameplate.

Here comes the conceptual successor to the famous Dino 246 GTB: The first "real" Ferrari road car with a V6 engine is a plug-in hybrid and is called the 296 GTB.
(And yes, it is also available with the front hood closed.. 😎👍)
CP 422 rips thru Palgrave with a rescue crew at the helm and a pair of magnetic ditchlights slapped on. A rare moment of delays rendering an otherwise midnight train into a morning wonder. Not long after they would find another delay after breaking a knuckle just outside of Toronto's Agincourt yard.

GM&O F3 #883A on the turntable at South Joliet Yard. After arriving on the "Plug," it has been fueled, watered sanded and turned. Shortly, it will be backed into the roundhouse for the evening, ready for the next morning's commuter run to Chicago. March 1969.
The Pontsticill reservoir 'Plug hole' with water just about overflowing on a grey and misty morning a couple of days ago. Ponsticill is a large reservoir on the river Taf Fechan lying partly in the county of Powys and partly within the county borough of Merthyr Tydfil in south Wales. It lies within the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr Geopark. For those of you who are interested in this sort of thing the reservoir dam is a 110 ft high embankment has, since its completion in 1927, been holding back 15,400 megalitres of water for supply to industry and population of south Wales.
A good way I know
to find happiness, is to
not bore a hole to fit the plug.
