A hot connection on the active pin with no RCD protection has caused an arc. Hence the charring and damage to the plug.

Some comments:
The whole photoshoot takes place in Kyoto, we have been using some restaurant for the indoor shots, and the area around Kamogawa for the shots outside! I am using Shoot-through umbrella as main light for the indoor shots!

I will insert later the individual lighting information of each shot later, can't upload it as a batch! Also later this month after my new Wordpress based homepage is completed I will have an article about the photos there!

This plug was attached to a fridge in use in a printing organisation - another fire waiting to happen!
A shameless plug I know but this week I was notified by Grays of Westminster that I had won their July competition on the theme of Macro. Needless to say I'm very pleased!!

Grays of Westminster is the UK's Nikon only dealer and where I buy all my gear. Having visited the shop, if you're a Nikon user it really is paradise!
If there's a laptop within crawling distance, you can be sure she will find it. She pushes buttons, closes windows, and basically screws everything up...at least from the adult point of view. I'm sure from her perspective she's just checking things out. Remember the days when it took forever to figure out how to program the VCR? I bet she's have it figured out before I me. It's as though the kids born these days are born already plugged into today's technology.
