Got my mom to help me out with some shutter speed fun, playing with light. Went into the dining room and set up some candles for a nice setting, and some masquerade masks as well!

Take a real 29 Squadron 4 ship slide, a little washed out. Add a real sunset slide, then copy the result. Wait over 30 years, then play with the copy in PhotoShop. MAGIC!!

The lighting in this image is done with 2 - 100 Watt bulbs and 3 paper laterns from IKEA. I borrowed the idea from Brooke Shaden, who uses this technique in some of her beautiful images.

This is the last shot of my 'Playing with light' week of self portraits. It's been fun experimenting.
Fastastic 'installation' of flexible light string things in Explore science centre in Bristol, UK. This was taken moving the camera with the light strings still - looks very like the old transporter from Star Trek.
A few days ago I popped into the camera toss group; I was immediately fascinated by the concept. I faved a couple of pics from the pool, and next thing I gave it a shot myself. This was done in front of a TV set with the white balance compensation set to tungsten (hence the blue).
For the sake of honesty I have to say that the camera was attached to a belt that was hanging at my neck; I am not prepared to let it go without this protection (at least not with this almost-brand-new DSLR). Other than that, the camera was having a good flight, way out of my hands. I am looking forward to try with film (I think I will be more daring thereabouts...)
27th January... amusing myself on a long car journey by playing with long exposure and traffic lighting.
I have discovered, since throwing myself into photography, there is always a shot to be found...no matter where or what! And now... i can't stop looking! You see... there is beauty in traffic congestion!!
Sorry if you are getting fed up with all of my abstract light shots!! just can't help myself!

Yay! 1st experiments turned out quite well. Need to build a stronger support to make the structure more rigid. And also use some brighter LEDs
