One of my experimental shots from saturday.
Please do not start a moral debate about what light is, or whether God exists. If you'd like to, it's already happening over here.
Enjoy!
don't seem to have much time these days and been up against the creative brick wall for a while now, managed to catch a rare hour yesterday and waft a few lights about
crop from the previous shot, spider web in green with a hint of blue, more blue on the web would work better for me, but I didn't even spot this until I got back home
Walked around my property. Insects seemed to rule today. Found this dragonfly while I went around my labyrinth. It agreed to be photographed. I didn't mention I was going to put its image on flickr...
Late to the sunset party. I was able to "rescue" this photo, the second frame taken in a series.
Saw the sunset and clouds while riding my bike south from the Music Harry's Place. I wanted to get into a position to put the gazebo in the foreground, knowing all the while that the light and sunset was failing fast, and I might not make it. Once I got into position, I had to move around to partially "cover" the commercial buildings and neon signs across the river; all the while wondering if I could even handhold this low light shot with 80-200mm beast. Cropped some sky and grass off top and bottom and also cloned/healed out a jet contrail. Used a gradient mask to bring out the foreground.

Version 3: Noticed a problem with the gradient mask I used to bring out the foreground. Do you see it? Added a radial mask to balance things out and added a second version of this photo. Corrected minor lens distortion, and brightened things up a bit more in case of printing.
the skytrain ride home yesterday was filled with sunshine. We were all so gleeful playing with cameras and light and smiles... in this moment i covered half the lens with my $1 gloves, and I caught a pensive piece of m. She's one of my favorite people ever. I think I have learned how to be a better person because of her. There are just some people out there that feel like home.
Learning new techniques on a digital camera course. Signed up to get me out of the house on these long winter nights. Andy the tutor was spinning a torch round in his hand in this one.
Headed out for a few days so thought I'd unload some photos that have been sitting around awhile. Have a good weekend.
An interesting look at depth provided through multiple colours to highlight the creativity within the Toronto Power Plant Building.
Listen in on 100.5 and pull into the Floral Showhouse Parking Lot for the choreographed music and light change with more colours and fun!
Canada Day fireworks in the Parry Sound harbour taken from a boat with Canon 450D, long exposure setting and normal hand shaking
Another experiment: I detached my 100mm macro lens from the body and focused it to infinity. I then tilted the lens at an angle and move it around till i achieved the focus I desired.
"Playing with the light..." On our way to the pool we saw this big patch of sunlight and she suddenly stopped, put her water bottle down & then kinda moved slowly around it... I wish my camera could have 'caught' the 'lightshow' the bottle was making with the sun, it really was pretty... :)
"i'm trying to do the best that i can with what it is i have." Feeling good these days.

.... while Nat played with his guitar.
He puts up with me almost willingly now. I hardly feel guilty at all for forcing him.

hello world - here I am on watch again, it is just past midnight and we are sailing along the coastline - I can see the lights of the townships on the dark horizon south of Foster/Tuncurry - I watch the sea wooshing past in the moonlight

Ugh! So, the beauty of living in an older city with cool, old timey architecture is that you've got quirky, lopsided buildings to photograph. Tragically, the bane of living in an older city with cool, old timey architecture is that you've got quirky, lopsided buildings to photograph! I can't get this one straight no matter what I use as a levelling point of reference!!!!!!!
started running software recovery on some many times over formatted memory cards and found some stuff
