This evening i headed down to a regular open mic night, and was pleasantly surprised to see Mark Ben Wilson was performing.
Mark is a fantastic guitarist based in the Brighton Sussex area and gives Andy Mckee a run for his money with his mind-blowing cover of Andy Mckee's 'Drifting".
He captivated the audience tonight with his cover of Radiohead's hit "High and Dry" Search for Mark Ben Wilson on Facebook a cracking musician and solo artist who shouldn't be missed.

Sometimes in the crowd there is someone who stands out.
You eye gets caught and the mind is fascinated for just a second but In that second the world may change for ever.
This is produced, by accident, I was trying to do something else with the kaleidoscopes,.
This is using a neo-pixel ring in a tube to project the light onto a wall in the dark. That makes the seperate but overlapping circles. It happens because each pixel shines in from a slightly different angle. The distortion is done using a large magnifiying lens. The original image had a lot of noise, I used NeatImage to remove the noise.
I took this photo using a bike light in a mirror! Creative light photography can be so awesome yet so simple.
7th January... back to playing with the light sticks... much easier with a remote control!
more to come!

the days grow long
and soon I'll hear

its 1 year today since i made my first ever light tool and became consumed with playing with lights in the dark, and the quest started to find the perfect black hole to play in..ooh err..

This was my first photograph after my move back to the Right Coast from Aspen, Colorado. People think that the East is just cities, and flatlands. I hope that this image proves that there's much more than meets the eye.
24 second exposure, Æ’4.0, 200 ISO, 10mm, and just a touch of Lightroom magic

and to be honest this was taken when I first got into what I know now as light painting, this shot was an early keeper from when i got my first dslr in October 2007.
This is still 1 of my personal favorites, its not just the photo, or subject or the result even, its probably more because it was a major turning point in my quest to do strange things with light and camera
