More variations with an ongoing theme

Playing around with WS2801 Led's a cheese grater and and toy Henry the hoover.

Place a cokin filter adaptor and holder over the 77mm or what ever lens size you have. Then carefully position the cheese grater over the filter holder. You will have to steel one from the kitchen and take off the plastic end! Your partner will go bananas when she goes to use it again, but thats the chances you have to take in life! Focus manually on the nearest point normally i do 1/3 into the scene. Set camera to 2 or 10 seconds delay, play around with exposure using live view, this one was 4 seconds with f7 ISO 200. Then simply wave lights around the grater until desired shot is taken. For best results use coloured rgb lights. Once shot is taken place the grater back into the kitchen draw and keep quite, deny all knowledge of the missing plastic end, if she notices it, blame the dog!

Again playing with camera settings, the idea was to get some detail on the sandcastle which was heavily shadowed. I like the white effect though I realise it may not be to anyone else's taste.

accident and emergency

Inspired by the Flickr group 'Camera Toss'. Instead of tossing my camera, I moved my camera in front of a light wand that was sitting in front of a mirror in a darkened room using a long exposure.

Camera setting: Bulb mode and held shutter open for various lengths of time.

Light source: Multi-colored light wand.

Man last night was fun!!!!!!!! We met up with Pixelated~Light and Lomo-Cam a little after Midnight at Moore's Crossing Bridge for some Light Painting. It was one humid night but the Moon was at her best and we got some pretty damn nice shots. One of the best things about meeting up with the ATX Light Junkies is we always learn a lot and its always a great adventure, Even Team Jacob showed up for a bit lmao :)

I hardly processed this image.. and look at that vignetting. Must be the 5D.

This bugger was hanging upside down under a leaf. I like how the light shines through the leaf and illuminates it. To be honest i have no idea of what "it" is exactly all i know it is a moth. I have only seen it as how the photo is taken, but i know it is more with/gray-ish instead of green. If someone knows what it is, please tell me. It is not a perfect sharp shot but i really like how it is lit and hope someone can tell me what it is.

Now if I can just catch the skipping ropes in the air...

Double lens swap, Double location, Blind pan double exposure lens cap trick from a while back.

It's like the lens cap trick effect with 1st version of bastardized rotating tripod thing.

I must have taken several thousand shots of my Stringin It machine. Time to upload a few more. This one's for Zaz, cause I know she likes the colors... Some PS unsharp mask and layers tweaks.

My enlarged take on the spindle insert, With added insert.

the diffused light is causing a bit of ball ache too.

Experimenting with the light on my Christmas tree because it was too cold to go out tonight. Was planning on getting a better shot than this, until my battery died...bummer. This photo has made it to #188 in Explore on December 24th 2006.

Tell me which one you like!

First test painting with light (long exposure) using the new version of the PointyThing writing with single Neopixel (red/green/blue) LED at the point, being controlled by the microcontroller. Photo is a long explosure (about 300 seconds) of it rotating in a spiral

I don't hammer these, but I will try and squeeze 1 in from time to time just for the fun of it
