Plant Family Collection in spring. Photo by Steven Severinghaus.

The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.

This plant is hidden beneath the shade of another one of the large tree/bush things in the garden. After cutting back the huge bush we found this was flowering beneath it

The Grand Del Mar, San Diego

Took these shots at a small abandoned and overgrown water treatment plant in Sykesville that is about a 15 minute walk from my house, but I never knew it.

On the grounds were 3 different control room buildings, one large greenhouse, and four water tanks of different sizes.

I went with a friend who had only had about a half hour to explore, so I was rushing to get these shots, and didn't see everything I wanted.

I am calling this a pitcher plant because that is what it most seems to resemble but I have never seen one before that has the rolled leaves like these ones did.

Plants are chocolate cupcakes covered in nutella and crushed nutella for the earth. They are then topped with a mint sprig.

This scan was made form slides I shot more than 20 years ago and with a home scanner, sorry for all the scratches and granularity. All Multi exposures where made on film, no dark room manipulation here, just raw scans with the the original dusty look as you can see :-)
