Le voyage vers la lune
Sometimes unexpected shots are brought back from a photo shoot. I was in place for a sunset, the moon rose and a small plane flew by. The photo isn't perfect, but the souvenir is excellent!

Continuing the theme of exploring more rural scenes in Dorset, I planned a trip yesterday morning as all the indications were for mist lingering in the morning. Unfortunately, on arriving at my intended location there was no mist and so I quickly diverted to a place I'd only recently discovered. There was a burst of wonderful early colour, followed soon after by some nice, brooding clouds. I hope you like what I captured.
A common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) was patiently planning for the dive from the top of a wetland sitting on a twig with sharp looks. Moments later he met the success - a fish catch. It looked very colourful under the morning Sun. I was chasing its actions for quite sometimes and in this rare occasion it accepted my close presence and hence the result. Pics was taken from river sides of the Ganges in Burdwan, West Bengal, India.
Vanoise National Park is one of the most popular outdoor areas in France. The scenery is mountainous and beautiful, sometimes almost other-worldly, and often very dramatic.
During the summer the Vanoise National Park is essentially hikers territory, and there are numerous trails that can be followed including several long, sometimes difficult but always impressive, hikes.
There are more than 100 mountains over 3000m altitude here, with the highest being the Grande Casse at 3855m above sea level.
On my first night in Arequipa, Peru I planned to do a “blue hour” shot from a third story bar overlooking the main cathedral. Even though I arrived with plenty of time, all the best seats were taken and there was not room for my tripod. So I went down one flight of stairs and found a window which framed the cathedral. I then opened the shutters which gave me these reflections.
Sometimes plan B works out to be better!
The city center of Arequipa, Peru is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is composed of baroque buildings derived from white volcanic sillar stone, giving Arequipa the nickname 'Ciudad Blanca' (White City). To add to the mystique of the city, it is surrounded by three impressive volcanoes (El Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu).

According the online information, a secret plan is a secret scheme to do something, especially something underhand or illegal.
So, my portrait of today. I thought it was decent day, but there were things I wanted to get done that I ended up not even attempting... and then I realized that that all too often I never even get to things I want to get done. Sometimes people say that that is the mark of a perfectionist... that they never get out of the planning stages because everything needs to be perfect... but I don't think that's it. I don't think I'm a perfectionist. A world class procrastinator, possibly. Yes, definitely. I avoid things that I don't like to do. I think. I plan. I come up with a plan and then decide that I really don't like the plan and it won't work for me. And then I tell myself that I should go to bed early, get a good night's sleep and get started tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, it is today... and you know how the rest of it plays out.
So, today, after being made aware of the fact that I said "I have no idea what is going on here" way too many times today... but, hey, procrastinator, or not... at least I'm honest and truly, I have no idea what is going on... I went home to avoid the things that needed to be done and ended up further obsessing about my complete inability to accomplish anything. I seem to think that I will one day miraculously find the means to get out of my own way and make great things happen. Yeah... until I realize that it's getting pretty late in the game and I am running out of time. So, I wonder when that will be. All of this worries me. I need to come up with a plan. But first... I'm just going to go to bed early and get a good night's sleep. (See a pattern here.... ?)
Plan B
“Time passes. The world turns, and we turn with it, and though we can never go back to the beginning, sometimes, we can start again.”
― Megan Hart
So... Plan B Day. It's Easter, but families can't get together, so we made do with phone calls. There are no church services this Easter Sunday. Plan B was online church services. I got up early and took a drive to take a photo of something that was no longer there... Plan B was a nice leisurely drive taking photos elsewhere... followed by what I actually planned to be Plan B... to take my daily photo in a place other than the farm that I have been challenging myself to find a new photo to take each day... but that place was roped off with police tape and closed... so Plan B became Plan A and I was back to my original plan in my original location... I guess that makes it Plan B?! So, I set my flowers down on the windowsill of a very broken window while I looked around for inspiration, trying to decide what this old farmhouse would offer up to me today. And then I turned around and saw the light hitting the flowers on the windowsill of that terribly smashed window that I have never used in a shot before because it was just too broken, and the light was never right... until now. And it worked. So, time is passing. Most days fly by, but when I think about it, it seems like it has been a very long time since I have been to work. There were 8 new Corona cases in my town today, but that is a 24% increase from yesterday. We can't enter a business without a face mask... and I did have to stop at Home Depot today... and it's a maze... I can't figure out which door they want us to enter through, where we are supposed to pay, or which door they want us to exit through, so I am hoping that I have all I need and won't have to go out there again... because it's too Twilight Zonish. Have you noticed that no one even looks at anyone else anymore? There is absolutely no interaction. But, hey! What about the good news!! The starry starry nights!! People are noticing that with less cars on the road, businesses closing, industries shutting down, and less air travel, that the fog and smog has cleared out, air quality is better than ever... and people are noticing the sparkling clear night sky! How awesome is that?!! And this morning, everyone I worked with reached out in texts to each other to wish them a Happy Easter. That has never happened before either. Yup, the world keeps turning and together we will get through this... and maybe things will never go back to the way that they were... but maybe... just maybe... they will be better! Like this old broken window, that I thought was too broken to be good for anything ... but when the light hits it just right, it's still good... and when the skies clear... the stars shine brighter! Maybe the Universe has a Plan B in store for all of us... and maybe it's even better than Plan A. (Yes, let's go with that...) As always, stay well out there!
