The orphanage was built as a military home for German officers of the air force during WW I. The old airport is now a cart track. The buildings were sold to an organization that organized vacations and accommodation for children. Difficult educable kids and orphans were teached in As. Later some new classrooms were added to the site to create more space in the main building were the children sleep.
In 2005 the site got abandoned due to financial problems, the kids were accommodated elsewhere. In a few years the whole place is trashed so much the buildings are probably in such a bad state they only can be demolished. There are no plans yet for the site.
