I forget which street fair it was. Our city closes down Mission Street very often from Fair Oaks to the metro station to host street fairs.
Add the sweet, smoky contents of this jar to a couple of cans of beans and your family will think you slow simmered your gourmet barbecue beans all day.

City Market, located at 633 E Davis St in Luling was opened in 1958 by brothers Howard Ellis and Lanos Ellis. Pitmaster Joe Capello, has managed the canonical barbecue joint and its post oak smoke room since 1969. City Market has been named to the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ list in 2008, 2013 and 2017.
The Cherry St location was ideal not just because of the sweet view of the city’s skyline from the 100-seat patio, but also because the there aren’t many neighbours to disturb with the wood smoke that’s generated from the pits.

The hugely popular Snow's BBQ is located an hour outside of Austin but worth the trek on a Saturday (it's only open one day a week). Snow's is considered to be among the best bbq in Texas by those in the know.

We infused our salsa with the world's hottest pepper - the Naga Jolokia or "Ghost Pepper" that measures over 1 million Scoville units....when measured on it's own. This salsa contains zero pepper heat - just pure natural heat.

I'm watching BBQ Pitmasters on TV now and being reminded of that wonderful pitt BBQ that Bawlmer is famous for. I had the pitt turkey. Ummm, I love turkey! If you are ever in Baltimore, you must get some pitt BBQ. It's a tradition hon!
