This huge tree was one of the main reasons that Claude wanted to buy our house. I still remember him calling me and telling me that he was putting in an offer to buy this house because there was this humongous beautiful pine tree in the back yard. It was love at first sight.

My husband and I and all of the creatures that lived in this tree are saddened to have to say goodbye.

Winter wonderland in Holland. Bring it on I say. Even the view from my balcony is now great.

It was a cloudy afternoon so I had the f-stop at f/5.6. I wanted a high shutter to prevent any shakiness in the photo and I chose to focus on this side of the tree. I was able to capture the height of the tree and the contrast of the snow on all the branches. I was able to make the tree standout against the sky.

This is one of the pine trees my grandpa and i planted when i was 7, 20 years latter, things changed, they are casting wast shadow in hot summers :)
