The captured Rebel Pilots, despite unfathomable torture, refuse to tell any secrets. Darth Vader is not pleased..

Pilot whales are actually dolphins, not whales. They are the second largest dolphin, after orcas.
25182 830203 Man Vic Pilot
Victoria Pilot on the 3rd Feb 1983 was 25182 seen here moving some vans from the back of a train which had just arrived from Red Bank over in to the bay on the North side of the station.
The pilot was very busy in the early evening performing such duties so much so that if a freight required banking the at train would have to wait until a lull in shunting activities.

Shot with K.W. Pilot Super and the Anastigmat 7.5cm f2.9 lens with inserted 4.5x6 mask.
Film is foma 100 which was in the camera too long and shows traces of backing paper on emulsion.
While driving on the freeway to the airport for our last trip, we passed this Harley rider with his little biker-buddy securely tucked in behind him, complete with aviator goggles. As we passed, I waved the camera at him to ask his permission to snap the shot, and he grinned and gave the okay sign. Do you think he barks if he sees a CHP behind them?
A rough day at Fremantle. with a pilot boat ploughiing into the swell. Strong Southerlies this week have seen several boats on the rocks.
A view of Pilot (11,708 ft) and Index (11,313 ft) Peaks from the pilot-index overlook on Beartooth highway. Both peaks were formed by melting/retreating glaciers that eroded a lot of hillsides. Still seen is one of the glaciers in between the two peaks. Pilot Peak (the pointy one) is a glacial horn, a pyramid of rock carved by four glaciers while Index Peak (to the right) was also carved by glaciers but looks little blunted at the top.
This is the northern edge of the Absoraka Range, an eroded mass of lava, ash, and mudflows that began forming 50 million years ago.
The Beartooth highway is an All-American Road that has been called "the most beautiful drive in America," by late CBS correspondent Charles Kuralt. The Beartooth highway is the section of U.S. Highway 212 between Red Lodge, Montana and Cooke City, Montana. It traces a series of steep zigzags and switchbacks, along the Montana-Wyoming border to the 10,947 ft (3,337 m) high Beartooth Pass. The approximate elevation rise is from 5,200 ft (1,600 m) to 8,000 ft (2,400 m) in 12 mi (19 km) in the most daring landscapes.

If you have ever watched an old TV series called "The Andy Griffith Show". That show was set in "Mayberry" a fictional town based on Griffths home town of Mt Airy NC. ON the show they often talked about getting away to Mt. Pilot for the weekend. This is the real pilot mountain. And after the trip we had an early dinner in Mt Airy, aka Mayberry.
Not sure whether i prefer the black and white or colour version of this photo. Id really appreciate peoples opinions
I was wondering what to do with the Lego Aircraft front nose assembly piece. Then I turned it into a face mask for a rookie trainee at Tie Fighter School. He’s only got three fingers and that’s why he’s struggling with the flight controls.
Another outdoor shot. Make a backstory in the comments and I'll put it in the description. C&F highly apprciated!
Could not find any history on this restaurant, so here is a recent comment off Trip Advisor
.......going strictly on Tripadvisor recommendations, we used our GPS to find The Pilot House.
After some driving and wondering if we were on the right track, we happened up on this little building next to what looked like a golf course/state park. The outside is nothing to write home about, and the parking is tight, but inside this looks like a dive where you just know the food is going to be good, and it didn't disappoint.
I had the sweet & spicy bbq sandwich which came on grilled sourdough bread, and a side of seasoned fries. One of my coworkers had the same, while the other one ordered a burger, which he said was really good, as were our bbq sandwiches.
You get plenty of food for you buck as well. The service was fast, friendly and personable. They have a good beer selection, and serve Pepsi products as well as ice tea.

Sea Haven - Introduced into Aberdeen Harbour in March 2008.
The 15.25 metre steel, twin screw Sea Haven was constructed by Pembroke-based, Mustang Marine (Wales) under a contract valued at almost £800,000.
In addition to her pilotage and general-purpose roles, she is also specially designed for hydrographical surveys and for use as a Harbour Master's launch. A maritime pilot, also known as a marine pilot or harbor pilot and sometimes simply called a pilot, is a sailor who manoeuvres ships through dangerous or congested waters, such as harbors or river mouths. He or she is normally an ex ship captain and a highly experienced shiphandler who possess detailed knowledge of the particular waterway, e.g. actual depth, direction and strength of the wind, current and tide at any time of the day. The pilot is a navigational expert for the port of call.
Maneuvering a ship through the shallow water to berth / unberth in a port requires teamwork which involves, apart from the port pilot, the ship's captain (jointly responsible), ship's crew, port tugs, and shore linesmen. Since the pilot is on board the ship, he controls the tugs and linesmen through a radio and the ship directly. The ship's captain ensures his crew carry out the pilot's orders.
High skill is required to be a pilot as the channels through which the ships move towards the port is normally too narrow and shallow for the size of the ships, stopping distance of the ships being a few nautical miles and the fact that ships do not steer at slow speed. Even if a ship captain is a regular visitor to a certain port, he can not match the expertise and experience of the Pilot.
In an unfortunate case of an accident, high pollution is a risk as the ships carry thousands of tonnes of fuel for her own consumption.(Clean up cost and other damages of the Exxon Valdez disaster was around $ 5 billion). Also if a ship is wrecked in the channel, the channel and the port could be closed for months until the shipwreck is removed.
Most ports have compulsory pilotage.
Legally, the master has full responsibility for safe navigation of his vessel, even if a pilot is on board. If he has clear grounds that the pilot may jeopardize the safety of navigation, he can relieve him from his duties and ask for another pilot or, if not compulsory to have a pilot on board, navigate the vessel without one. Only in transit of the Panama Canal and in Canada does the pilot have the full responsibility for the navigation of the vessel.
In English law, Section 742 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 defines a pilot as "any person not belonging to a ship who has the conduct thereof." In other words, someone other than a member of the crew who has control over the speed, direction, and movement of the ship. The current United Kingdom legislation governing pilotage is the Pilotage Act 1987.
Pilotage is one of the oldest professions, as old as sea travel, and it is one of the most important in maritime safety. The oldest recorded history dates back to about the 7th century BC.[1] The economic and environmental risk from today's large cargo ships makes the role of the pilot essential[citation needed].

In this photo taken by Command Module Pilot John Young, the ascent stage of the Apollo 10 Lunar Module (LM) is seen prior to docking in lunar orbit. Mission Commander Thomas P. Stafford and Lunar Module Pilot Eugene A. Cernan are returning to the Command and Service Module "Charlie Brown" after descending in the LM, known as "Snoopy," to within 14.4 km of the lunar surface. The LM had flown over Landing Site 2 in the Sea of Tranquility, testing the systems and procedures that would be used during the first Apollo lunar landing that would happen two months later during the Apollo 11 mission. The LM descent stage was jettisoned into lunar orbit.
The lunar surface in the background is near, but beyond the eastern limb of the Moon as viewed from Earth (about 120 degrees east longitude). The red/blue diagonal line is the spacecraft window.
