With no photos taken over the last week or so I began looking back through my folders (boy, what a mess!!) of last year and took a liking to this one, which I've decided to post. I've no idea what it is (no knowledge of plants whatsoever) but it was growing along the roadside in The Algarve. I think it's pretty but most probably a weed!!

Pasir Ris Park is a beach park located in the eastern part of Singapore . It covers an area of 70 hectares and offers a variety of activities for visitors, including swimming, cycling, fishing, and picnicking. The park also has a playground, a campsite, and a barbecue area.

Crawfordsburn Country Park, looking out to towards the Irish sea. You can see where this picture was taken on google maps. As you can see, this is quite tidal.

This image was created in Photomatix from 3 exposures (-2,0,+2) on a Nikon D80. The image was then tonemapped and pushed into photoshop to crop slightly and straighten up.

The Gold Rim Swallowtail or Polydamas Swallowtail (Battus polydamas) is a butterfly of the family Papilionidae. It is found in the Neotropic ecozone and the Southernmost parts of the Nearctic ecozone. This golden-yellow fringed butterfly has no tails. It is dark, and the hindwings usually have a green luster. The underside is patterned with red. These swallowtails are distasteful to birds.
