Watching this crow up in a dead tree selecting sticks for its nest reminded me of that game called 'pick-a-stick' which we used to play as children. We had to pick up a stick from a pile of others without moving any of them. The crow had no such delicate strategies though and just tugged and pulled until the chosen twigs snapped.

After a few songs Billy would throw out his used picks into the crowd. One of the guys we met in line and hung out with got the one that bounced off Brannons chest!
Karel and Leandra are picking flowers because of Mother's day. And not just for the mothers - that would be unfair to the rest.
After starting the day in the squirrel forest yesterday, I ended it in the lovely primrose forest (Primula vulgaris). I just had to pick a few for my mother-in-law and myself to fill our houses with their lovely scent.
If my mother lived closer, I would pick some for her birthday today as well. But she got a delivery on her door instead ツ
