This big whopper of a pie was not ours but too pretty to pass up capturing. Old School New York Pizza here in Louisville, KY, USA sells it by the slice and we only got one (or two). It is Pi Day, after all.

As always (once a year) it was outstanding!

Pi Day. Defrosted last years frozen peaches and made a pi pie. Had a picnic in Oakland with Linds. Relaxed. Pulled the second skin off my tattoo... it was super bothersome.

In the morning on Pi Day, I stopped by the coffee shop where we had gotten slices of pie for the last two years. Unfortunately, I found no pie there. Then, I remembered that there was a pie shop in Fremont that I had passed before. I did a quick internet search—turns out the place is simply called Pie. It appeared to be open already, so I hopped on a bus to Fremont. I picked out a little strawberry rhubarb pie for us all to share, and I had Evan hold it for the picture that afternoon. Pi Day accomplished.

Happy pi day everyone!

Wow! This guy has great sense of humour but math LOL

I just have to say one thing: GIVE ME FIVE!!!

今日は3月14日でπの日なので数学ネタを一つ。

Another Pi Day has come to an end. I was hoping to get some concert pics today, since I was going to a show at a venue that normally allows photography, but the artist opted to disallow it for his performance. So, no concert pics.

Fortunately, I still had pie. In addition to the ones I shot yesterday, I had made this "chocolate silk" pie (from another Cooks Illustrated recipe) for the family, since the others were all headed in to the kids' school or my office. We had passed on dessert at dinner, so I cut myself a slice for a late dessert when we got in from the show, and grabbed some shots before digging in.

Pizza pie on pi day.

Have some pie!

I'll have pizza, thanks!

This is all I can manage right now, image-wise.

No Photoshop, etc.

Could be worse. Hot-and-cold running water : )

Kevin and I had to celebrate Pi today by going out for pie. Did anyone else celebrate?

3/14. Ironically, I do believe we were eating pie at 1:59. Does that count?

Happy Pi day! I'm having 3.14 pieces of pie to celebrate.

My new Pi Day shirt! I also updated my site with a new Pi Day page

It's got lots of great Pi stuff, including the new design I just created for my smartwatch. You can also download it for free if you have one.

Square root of -1 is represented by the imaginary number or "i."

2 raised to the 3rd power is "8."

The symbol signma, represents "sum."

And you know the last symbol!

Yummy!

Happy Pi Day! 3-14.

I made chili for my boy, and topped with a handcut tortilla pi.

An early attempt to calculate pi in the appendix of 'Euclide's Elements : the whole fifteen books compendiously demonstrated : with Archimede's Theorems of the sphere and cylinder, investigated by the method of indivisibles : also, Euclide's Data, and A brief treatise [added by Flussas] of regular solids'.

The latest cute edition to the family. Thankfully this one won't get any bigger, wee or poo everywhere, require constant feeding or eat Rachel's slippers. :-)

This was an Einstein impersonator at Pi Day on March 14 (his birthday) in Princeton. Most of them did a very good job of looking like the famous scientist.

Today we commemorate the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (or 3/14 in month/day date format), since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of π in the decimal form.

In 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day.

In Australia, we don't give a hoot because we use the day/month date format, but we do enjoy our pies.

All cell phone shots made into a collage. Taken on March 14, Pi Day. I thought the article was really interesting, about a woman who owns a pie shop in Virginia who just happens to be 103 and is still making and baking pies. Article from the Washington Post.

March 14, 2015: 73/365 (2630/2992)- So for months I have been hearing about this special "Pi day" this year due to the date and time. I got my plate ready and waited for 3/14/15 9:26, or 3.1415926 in digital, for you math geeks that's Pi to carried out to 8 digits, and technically if it was 53 seconds after 9:26 then it would be 10 digits, only happens once every 100 years. Somehow I thought if you were a true believer in the power of math then a slice of pie would appear on the plate. Guess I'm just not a strong enough believer, hope to try again next century!
