Pi has been a little melancholy lately. Maybe it is post election letdown, maybe it is just stress.

Pi and the all green eyed red headed cleaning crew worked all day yesterday in preparation for you know who's return.
Pie-grièche méridionale (Lanius meridionalis) chantant sur un mur d'un bâtiment abandonné. Plaine avant Caleta de famara, Lanzarote, Canaries, Espagne.
if anybody has this Sugarmag set OR wants to make me a custom nurse outfit ... please let me know! Pi really wants it.
You can take a bite two times today ;))
... and remember without Pi ... none of us would be able to take photos and post on the internet ... none of it would exist. So take a second and celebrate its existence.
I know it's not until tomorrow but Happy Pi Day! Our favorite Scientist Cute Couple decided to celebrate Pi Day with their favorite Pie - looks like they chose lemon :-) Yum!
Pi Scorpii is the bottom star of the head of Scorpius.
Pi Scorpii is surrounded with a Hydrogen Alpha nebula, while there are Blue Reflection nebulae throughout the image.
This obect was very difficult to image and process. It only reaches a maximum of 19.5 degrees from my observatory. I began shooting when it reached 15 degrees, and I could only manage approx 2 hours a night. This is image is 12 hrs of RGB and 2hrs of Lum. Taken in April and May with an FSQ106ED and Atik 11 Meg on a Mesu 200 mount.
With an object this low, I lost two nights where the entire sky except a thin portion of the Southern horizon with some cloud was enough to mean I had to dump the data.
There were gradients and colour balance issues also with the data. I have pushed this much further than I normally do, including extreme star work to prevent them dominating the image.
What better way to celebrate Pi Day than with a homemade Apple Pi ? How about some homemade Mince Pies, or a Key Lime Pi, a Chocolate Mousse Pi, a Raspberry Pi, or maybe a Pecan Pi. We've invited the neighbors over to celebrate and that's the dessert menu. Main course ? A half dozen Pizzas with all manner of toppings.
Have yourselves a great Pi Day, friends ! Slainte !
Best viewed hungry : ))
Sunset in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, nearby Montpellier France. Don't ask what's the pi made of, it just happened to be there!
How often does Pi Day fall on the full moon? Perhaps an average of once about every 29 years.
This is a very small slice of Key lime pie.
