photogram

I chose this one because the lines of the objects where clearer. I like the stark contrast between the black of the background and the white of the objects. I also think its cool that you can see the scratches in the sunglasses and that there are grey tones from the lenses.

A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result is a negative shadow image varying in tone, depending on the transparency of the objects used. Areas of the paper that have received no light appear white; those exposed through transparent or semi-transparent objects appear grey.

These photograms are made by pupils of the St Michaelschool in Groningen; Maureen, Anne, Luka, Mylene, Kaatje en Jolevi

I made this photogram using a piece of glass that I had spray painted with a series of stencils of my self.

An artist put these excellent photograms (old camera-less image technique) in some of the greenhouse panes. Very cool. Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.

A photogram is a photographic image made (without a camera) by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result is a silhouetted image varying in darkness based on the transparency of the objects used, with areas of the paper that have not received any light appearing light and those that have appearing dark, according to the laws of photo sensitivity. The image obtained is hence a negative and the effect is often quite similar to an X-Ray.

This is the original picture of how I developed it, overdeveloped it, or underdeveloped it in Photography class. This has not been enhanced or photoshopped in any way.
