The Chateau de Fontainebleau is located about 30 miles from Paris, and in many ways it's a lot more interesting than Versailles, because, for one thing, lots of French monarchs lived there, and each one expanded the castle. Meanwhile, Versailles was only inhabited by one king, and then it was never used again.

I spent the day taking photos in Arlington's Ballston neighborhood. This one's my favorite. The building is called the Ballston Point.

I took this photo for the Ballston BID, which is an organization aimed at enhancing the Ballston community in a wide variety of ways.

Another one of my favorites from France. Took this view of the city on top of Notre Dame.

I now know from experience that using a lemon zester is much easier than trying to zest a lemon with just a sharp knife.

My wife's family started farming in Michigan almost 150 years ago, and this is the house they built, which is still in the family.

Took a long hike this AM to get to a 'lesser known' waterfall. After all the effort, there was no water flowing!! So, you'll have to settle for this Digtal Infrared shot instead.

Writing gave me freedom.

Writing gave me peace of mind.

Writing gave me instant bliss.

Writing gave me broader mindset.

Writing gave me strength.

Writing gave me sanctuary.

Writing gave me imagination.

Writing gave me deeper understanding.

Writing gave me life.

Writing gave, still gives and will always give me everything.

I don’t take part in weekly themed photoposts that I see around the internet, but if I did, this would be an entry for Waterfall Wednesday. Not the largest of waterfalls, but it is indeed water…falling.

It’s a good job I didn’t post it yesterday, otherwise that sentence would not have worked, on the assumption these posts are meant to be alliterative.

This is another image taken in Slovakia from the High Tatras mountain range. We pretty much followed the river all the way up so had plenty of chance to take photos of the water in motion, and also to take refuge where possible in the shade of the trees as it was a pretty hot day.

Processing was done with a combination of Topaz Labs and OnOne Software plugins.

Don't go chasing waterfalls

Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to

I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all

But I think you're moving too fast
