"You got my phonecall then, Kes? You took a while getting here!"

"Tell me about it, Eden, sheesh, what does a girl have to do to get abducted by aliens around here! It took ages!"

"Perhaps they were only after sweet innocent virginal types?"

"Hey!... fair point though - anyhow, let's blow this joint!"

Watching from on high the Martian Leader is not impressed.

Harriet(4) & Ellie(2¾) have been pestering me to take them back down a tunnel ever since the last time- they love being given the chance to muck about with my torch collection. So Sunday I took all 4 kids to visit this legendary Glasgow underground urbex location. They loved it. Today dropping the two wee ones off at the nursery one of the assistants pulled me aside and said "Ellie says you took them down a tunnel on Sunday". Uh oh, I thought... here comes the phonecall to social work... Instead the assistant was wanting details of where it was because she would love to go take a look!

Seen in central London.

Created a set called "People with phones". So all week I'm gonna be posting shots of people talking on the phone or texting ;)

Little did I know when I was snapping this (having been trying to get one for many years!) that I would receive a phonecall a week later to say they were being withdrawn. 25114 (LX09 BGU) is one the 5 Stagecoach London Hybrid Tempos which were latterly used on the 178 and 380.

A late night phonecall on the south bank of the Thames, there was just enough fog to pick up the street light (and ground a few planes).

carnival damage! 60p for a phonecall now!!!thieving bastards

Well this was a very impromptu trip out, and it has to be said probably the single most fruitful photography trip I have ever had in such a small amount of time, I get a phonecall from Mike - Muddy Boots - www.flickr.com/photos/muddybootsuk...... do I want to do an all nighter up to the Lakes to do some night shots as the skies will be clear.... errrrm, yeh go on then..

We set off and decided to call in at Ingleton on the way North to try and catch sunset from up on the limestone pavement by Ingleborough, this didn't quite go to plan due to 'refreshments' in the form of liquid, and non liquid in Ingleton taking longer than planned, this was only really a bonus shoot and we realised we were not going to make it in time so we looked for another option nearby, thankfully, somebody, (or more accurately an Ice Age Glacier) had left this erratic boulder lying on it's own in this field, so we decided to use this as foreground interest looking out towards the Lake District at sunset, a very basic image in terms of composition, but for me it does everything it needs to.

The sunset didn't dissapoint, with great light and colours in the sky, and it had been a good walk to burn a bit of the Fish & Chips off.

For anyone who doesn't know, an Erratic boulder (like this) is a remnant from the Ice Age, when the glaciers melted they started moving and when they finally melted everything that they had been carrying along with them, trees, rocks, and whatever got left exactly where that happened, which explains why you get enormous random boulders on top of big hills like this for no apparent reason, looking at the worn ground around the base of it, the sheep now use it for scratching themselves, I had to get rid of quite a bit of wool from the scene....

It was seriously hard work staying awake, I think we managed just over an hours sleep in the car, not something I could do on a regular basis! But it was more than worth it for the images,

Mike's done a Vlog of the trip which you can see here, give it a watch it's really good. -

Just a normal day for us, work at mums, lunch, shopping for some new school shoes for Bethany, off to visit my aunt for a cuppa and a chat, then home for some dinner and a film.

While watching Cat and the Hat which Imogen was fully engrossed in, the girls had a phone call from their daddy who is away on an oil rig for the next couple of weeks.

Imogen is a proper daddies girl and loves talking to him on the phone when he is away, I could listen to her talking to him for hours.

She is missing him like crazy and he has only been away a couple of days,

Calling all good boys and girls and flickr friends to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

August, 2020

Actually, I do have two meetings via Zoom and one doctor phonecall.

love candid shots-- she was having a break, a chat and a cuppa from working in the lovely café on the station

Gotta love Fitzroy! This gorgeous creation was leaning against a lamp post, almost begging to be taken for a ride. I would have taken more shots but my child started streaking down the busy street and then howling for me. argh.

We had such a hilarious day with the small and a dear friend. We started it on a fine note in a chocolatier/café. It was a lush store filled with endless eye candy and whilst I was busy soaking in the goodness, my small kept touching things left conveniently at her height. To be fair, I did have half an eye on her and wasn't exactly letting her have free reign. So, not quite a lazy mama but, I looked down at her again and her face was priceless! She didn't have a chocolate in her mouth but oh my, talk about a mama just knowing. She looked like a Cheshire cat that had just stolen a bowl of cream; so completely pleased with herself but unsure of my reaction, classic! I was bewildered as to why she could have such a look on her face when she wasn't holding any chocolate though. Suspicious mama! I must have seen her do it with the eyes on the back of my head because there was a carton of 12 exquisitely hand decorated chocolate eggs sitting serenely in their box, not a mark on them, but the first one I pick up and turn over to inspect, had the bottom half completely missing! I was torn between completely horrified, especially considering the exorbitant price tag of said eggs and laughing at out loud with pure delight that my child could be so crafty! Clever little chicken. The woman working was a sweetheart and gifted the coveted egg to Arminka! So, we have had a few talks about buying first but biggest lesson was do not take your eyes off a small child in a chocolate shop!

The day managed to get a little more hysterical as it heated up. It was pouring with rain when were sipping our hot chocolates but an hour or so later, we were sweltering. The particular shop that we spent a bit of time in was stifling and I took Minka's new corduroy dress, which had been brought to her by our lovely guest, off and stripped her down to her leggings. She was much happier being a little cooler and I thought the afternoon would progress a lot easier. Well, about five minutes later I discover that I have somehow dropped the dress. You would be forgiven for thinking that shouldn't be a big deal, just re trace you steps and pick it up. Problem was that we were in a massive outlet store, like yoouge and the clothes, mainly gorgeous dresses, are squished onto the racks like nobody's business. Arminka took huge delight in scampering in between the clothes like a little ferret and I was the mad mama scrambling around on my knees trying to drag her out or push the clothes far enough apart that she could breathe. No wonder I lost the dress. Anyway, we couldn't find the thing any.where.! I also had the delightful experience of hearing an announcement over the loudspeaker telling the entire shop that somehow a young child had lost her clothes and would everyone please keep an eye out for them.

Meanwhile, Ariana had a most lovely time trying on a myriad of gorgeous clothes and I could almost see myself as her, three years prior, enjoying a shopping trip sans child...almost.

Anyway, three announcements over the loudspeaker later came up trumps, not even the offer big discount could make people find the vanishing outfit. I resigned myself to giving our details and hoping that it would turn up at some point. Er, slightly embarrassing that I lost a gift, on the first day Arminka received it and whilst we were with the gifter! And really, who loses clothes when shopping? Hilarious.

We sat down to a well deserved afternoon tea and half hour in, got a phonecall from the shop letting us know they had found the corduroy wonder! We were only up the street so I ran back and picked it up, too easy. Oh, yes, just another day out with this mad duo!

I think I'd make more phonecalls if we still had a telephone like this one.

The dramatic title is pure hyperbole but inspired by the fact that this room in a derelict council building is strewn with burnt, unused ballot papers from several Scottish elections dating back over the last 20yrs.

www.flickr.com/gp/9132734@N08/4QK068

I came across them the 1st time I explored this building several months ago and did report it to the UK Electoral Commission in England who agreed that this was not how they were meant to be disposed of and referred the matter on to a department in East Dunbartonshire. I got a nice phonecall from an official there thanking me for my tip off and assuring me that they would look into the matter. I now see that 5 months later nothing has been done...
