For Yoko,

The tall ship 'Phoenix' is seen returning to The River Fowey, Cornwall following a weekend commemorating John Saris' return from Japan and 400 years Anglo-Japanese relations.

While vacationing out in the American Southwest I wanted to take advantage of their dark skies and photograph the Milky Way. The only problem was that there was going to be a full moon which washes out much of the delicate starlight I was trying to capture. As luck would have it (for once I didn't plan this) there happened to be a lunar eclipse during my visit. Of course it happened to be the shortest lunar eclipse of the century but it would still work. The dark sky maps indicated 75 miles outside of Phoenix is just about the magic number to find a truly dark sky. Normally in the Midwest I'd need to travel almost 300 miles to find a sky with a similar lack of light so you can see why I was somewhat excited by this opportunity.

I was rewarded with one of the most amazing skies I have ever seen. As the moon disappeared into shadow the Milky Way emerged. I've never seen my shadow cast by starlight before and it was amazing. As you can see there was still an ample amount of light pollution. That glowing orange orb in the middle of the scene is coming from Phoenix which was 75 miles away at the time. In this case the light pollution worked out all right as the Milky Way arched right over it. Had the eclipse darkened the skies a few hours earlier though I would have lost most of the Milky Way to the light pollution.

It’s been a wonderful few days exploring the Phoenix area!

HTT!

It was a wonderful Christmas this year, but sad also as our little girl Phoenix has gone blind. We noticed a week or so before Christmas that she seemed a bit confused and bumped into walls and objects. A closer look found that both of her eyes were fully dilated. We got her into the vet and after examination & blood tests, it was found she had high blood pressure that likely caused retina damage. We were shocked and had no clue that HBP would affect animals.

She is now on medication and is really doing well getting around the house. She still loves to get in our laps and is adapting to her bed at floor level instead of her tower that she loved.

:3 I just love tan skin so much!!! I should have my 3 tan skin dolls from fairyland in one month or so. So exited!!!

I wanted to do a sort of concept that was like a reverse phoenix.

Definition of a phoenix:

phoe·nix:

a mythical bird of great beauty fabled to live 500 or 600 years in the Arabian wilderness, to burn itself on a funeral pyre, and to rise from its ashes in the freshness of youth and live through another cycle of years: often an emblem of immortality or of reborn idealism or hope.

The concept here is a phoenix that does not represent hope or reborn idealism, but rather death and destruction.

I'm experimenting with concept and color here, so let me know how you feel about it. :]

Fire lamp flame looks like a phoenix, a magical and mythical bird that lived 500 years and burst into flames. A phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.

Walking around the down town area and this abandon church ask me to take its picture.

Perhaps, the Phoenix, symbolizing Life Power and Resurrection, has been drawn with black ink on a white sheet, but wonderfully it turned into a figurine of black-and-white color. In this case, white colour of the Phoenix designates very high temperature, white heat. At white heat Phoenix is reborn again.

Finally, taking one last deep breath, she launched herself off the earth. Her feet kissed the earth goodbye as the breeze tickled her feathers and her lungs filled with air of the unknown. It was even better than she had imagined.“Why make a change? Why take a chance…” the last few whispers of the voices disappeared into a wisp. Instead, a new thought began to form, growing louder and stronger and more resonant, echoing throughout her entire world. “Why not?”

This was the last page of my storybook. I'll upload the rest once school finishes.

Also, it's finals week. And I'm dying.

"Objection!"

Finally i've wanted to start on a new Phoenix Wright other figures from the series but just couldn't figure out when to do so. It's a video games series I love and I only just played it last summer. I have played 4 games so far and i'm on Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright right now.

First of all I absolutely hate my last version of Phoenix Wright, mostly because of the hair. It looked awful, points were too straight, and it didn't look good at the front. Also the face looked huge and derpy, and I forgot to paint a collar. I totally fixed all of that on this figure though, at least I think. I sculpted a new hairpiece which looks good on all sides. Painted a new face and painted over the torso of my last one with a few cleaner and more proportionate lines.

Hope you guys like cause i'll be making more characters like Edgeworth, Godot, Maya, and who knows else.

What do you think!?
