All eyes on me; I see I saw

As the casual viewer peeks through the side window looking into The Substation Gallery, the painted fabric eye sculptures (All eyes on me), hung over the 5-foot-way of The Substation, observe the viewer in sinister silence. Visitors who step towards the gallery, are hindered by a handcrafted see-saw (I see I saw), emplaced out-of-place, in the foyer. They beg the questions: just who/what is the viewer/viewed, and is the act of viewing, ever-present?

To be in the world,
To watch it pass by,
But to not know sorrow, pain, or to cry.
Thats where I wish to be,
Just on the sweet periphery.
Where the breeze sweeps the fallen leaves away,
Like old past dreams of yesterday.
And where the river rushes along,
Bringing healing to my mind in the gentle refrain of its song,
Telling me I can remember my name again.
For by forgiveness and grace, a new life tomorrow I might begin.
