When I was in Paris, I found myself drawn to the crowd. Not the main attractions, but the moments happening on the edges—the things we weren’t supposed to be looking at. That’s where the real stories unfolded.
On the outskirts of the park, what used to be forest is now a patchwork of pastures, cultures and trees. These surfaces are either used for subsistance agriculture ("milpa"), commercial cultures (coffee, cardamom), or as pasture. Globally, meat production is the #1 factor of deforestation in the tropics.
