The Ford Escort is a small family car that was manufactured by Ford of Europe from 1968 until 2000. In total there were six generations, spread across three basic platforms: the original, rear-wheel-drive Mk.1/Mk.2 (1968–1980), the "Erika" front-wheel-drive Mk.3/Mk.4 (1980–1992), and the final CE-14 Mk.5/Mk.6 (1990–2002) version. Its successor, the Ford Focus, was released in 1998, but the final generation of Escort was phased out gradually, with the panel van version ending production in 2002 in favour of the Ford Transit Connect.
The second generation was launched in 1975. Unlike the first Escort (which was developed by Ford of Britain), the second generation was developed jointly between the UK and Ford of Germany. Codenamed Brenda during its development it used the same mechanical components, floorpan and core structure as the Mark I. with a sharper profile. The car used a revised underbody, which had been introduced as a running change during the last six months production of the Mark I. The "L" and "GL" models (2-door, 4-door, estate) were in the mainstream private sector, the Sport, Mexico and RS models in the performance market, the Ghia was introduced to appeal to the so far untapped mall car luxury market, while the entry level models consisted of the Base and Popular, and the little bit more glitzy Popular Plus
In August 1977, the Escort Mk.II received its first noticeable facelift, with the front grille, boot lid and steering wheel hub cap being fitted with the oval Ford logo instead of the previous single-letter lettering. While for 1978 L models gaining the square headlights (previously exclusive to the GL and Ghia variants) and there was an upgrade in interior and exterior specification for some models
As with its predecessor, the Mark II had a successful rallying career. All models of the Mark I were carried over to the Mark II, though the Mexico gained the RS badge and had its engine changed to a 1.6 L (1,593 cc) OHC Pinto instead of the OHV. A Sport model was also produced using the 1.6 L Crossflow. A new model was released, the RS1800, which had a naturally aspirated 1,833 cc (1.8 L; 111.9 cu in) Cosworth BDE DOHC 4 valves per cylinder created primarily for rallying. The RS 2000 with its distinctively slanted polyurethane nose, and powered by a Pinto engine became a weapon with choice with the same engine making its way to the more conventionally styled Mexico

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual outdoor Battery Dance Festival went virtual this year, like so many other performances.
So there was no live festival and most of the international dance companies that participated did so via video.
But NYC let the Festival film a handful of the performers live, albeit in the very early morning, as a way to discourage curious onlookers. These are some of the companies that participated; but this necessarily is a very small sampling.
