This is exactly what I want in my life. Me in a nightgown holding my look-a-like daughter. My Mom has already lived it.
The photo is in no way 'perfection' but the night was. Nutella. Laptop. "Rainy Days" playlist on iTunes. Camera. Tripod. Cell phone. Took some ground shots (this one) and sky shots. The ground shots turned out way better so that's what I'm posting.
Hope you all saw some meteors!!! (:
Guatemala City is a magical place. Perfection can have so many definitions here... In the case of this brief chronicle I scratch the surface on one of this variations.
A variation of unconventional views that spring out of a photo walk around the great Teatro Nacional of Guatemala City. The "Citadel" as I like to call it, since its the highest little hill in the center of the city, and the one place where, in isolation, the entire valley can be contemplated. Curious enough the "Citadel" is a guarding fortress at moments, at moments its the testimony of the clash of civilizations, human and alien. Could it be reason and the infinite power of creation inherent in the human mind? On thing is true, the mind of its creator seems to remain alive in it.
Quiet at first, it leads through mazes of mind questioning and the facing of what's outside this abstraction; it takes but an awkward glance to change everything, and to have the magic of this place come alive, bit by bits, introducing mystical characters that become one with the form that gradually reveals itself. A spaceship... The many silhouettes of Guatemala's broken landscapes. The mere shadow of volcanoes, and caves, shores on both oceans, and miraculous spectacles within.
A true monument to the soul of this country, a living sculpture, the work of genius...

Made by Peter de Pijper, a very very dear friend.
The minute I saw the rough version of the bird I fell in love with it. Now it is finished and in my living room to enjoy it every day.
Another experiment with single exposure tone mapping.
I think this technique might work particularly well with greyscale images as both tend to accentuate the detail in the photo.
The original edit is here.
Panoramic photo stitched using Hugin from 4 originals.

I love love this image!
Because:
it is my best 6 year old friend,
and his artwork,
in my class.
And the colors,
and the lighting
and his little boy legs.
This is probably not what you see, because this women has had top of the line make up put on her by make up artist, she has been air brushed and photo shopped. Image Source: www.makeupallure.com/ma_poreless_skin.html
Another new base yarn, it's the lace version of 'Perfection', 800 m/875 yds... takes colour just as well as it's sock weight sista :D
A Great Egret in flight looking beautiful. I love their back lit wings in flight. It is breathtaking every time I see them in flight with the sun behind them. I love the birds there is no doubt about that.......
