The red background is the flower's petal. I planted this flower myself but I forgot the name when I bought the seed last Spring. Today, I saw more flowers blooming and they are very beautiful.
A female beautiful demoiselle - one of the most beautiful dragonflies I know. There are less of them compared to the last years. Hopefully this will change again...

I don't know when I've seen a prettier day at the inlet than the day I took this photo. The clouds were so low it was almost as if you could reach out and touch them! Everything was perfect, from the color of the water to the color of the sky, and the wonderful shadows that hit the walkway as I sized up the shot just added to it all.
I used an HDR and Orton treatment in post processing to pull up more detail and color, and took out some of the gold tones that were on the walkway to create a little more color contrast.
I'm up late thanks to sleeping in something like 15 hours last night. My good intentions were to sleep and sleep, so I could get well faster, but my body just wouldn't stay in zombie mode to cooperate, so here it is after 3 AM and I'm just about to hit the hay! I do feel a lot better after getting all that rest, and I thank everyone who prayed for me and sent me good thoughts! I see light at the end of the tunnel. Now, to sleep again....Good night!

Nature creates so amazing stuff, it's beyond belief. You will never find a perfection there, yet everything is perfect. It is relaxed perfection without tension, something I would like to have in my life. So far, all I have is the tension...
So often I see Camellia flowers and they are not quite open, or weather bruised, or their petals are falling to the ground but this one seemed to be caught at just the right moment - a most perfectly shaped camellia I thought!

Good morning everyone and I hope you had a nice weekend. Featured today are two pics of a pristine Pipevine Swallowtail (Battus philenor). Like the title states, it's near perfection as far as a flawless specimen. Plus I couldn't have asked for better light under a slightly overcast sky.
While always fussy when it comes to photographing butterflies as far as being in decent condition with no missing pieces or heavy signs of wear & tear, this one exceeded my own criteria. No doubt it's newly emerged and the nicest Pipevine I've ever photographed. Even when viewed large it's impossible to find anything wrong with it.
The Pipevine is right up there as one of my favorite butterflies and it's easy to see why in these two photos. Of which the second, being an open wing pic, can be found in the comment section and my stream.
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you have a truly nice day and week.

In my opinion. :)
This little buckle (possibly a shoe buckle) dates back to the 1900s and is a little the worse for wear, but still has a certain charm, I think.

If there was such a thing as perfection it would be very bland - don't you think? Its the flaw that's interesting.............
Chinese Lantern (Physalis alkekengi) aka Cape Gooseberry - known as the Golden Flower in Chinese medicine. Said to cure liver problems, send you to sleep or work as an antiseptic.
I was so amazed at the perfect details in this milkweed pod. Some of the weeds already had the fluff blowing in the wind as you can see from a previous pic that I posted.
I wish everyone a good week and I will try to get back to normal and start commenting on your wonderful pics!!
Thanks so much for your visits!!
