When I came across this beautiful pink Hibiscus, which was big as a saucer, all I could think of was Perfection! There were no bad marks on it and the water droplets were like the icing on the cake to show this flower off!
There is something awe-inspiring, yet terrifying, about being in the realm of perfection. I was photographing a Blue Shark when I heard a yell from topside, "MAKO!" I immediately swiveled around and caught a glimpse of a large shadow streaking off into the depths with lightning speed. My heart started to beat faster and I started to breathe harder as I scanned the water column all around me. Then out of nowhere, a flash of steel blue and teeth shot out of the darkness and charged right towards me. The mako swam to within inches of me, turned, and was gone again. I was in the presence of the perfect predator, and in that brief moment I felt something I still cannot describe...a mix of fear and respect and wonder. What an experience that I will not soon forget.

"In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they're still beautiful."
- Alice Walker
This is one fantastic, amazing location... I'm dying to go back... Hiking on site, wonderful views, animals, etc.... Incredible....
Yellow-breasted Chat
Icteria virens
Chats are such beautiul birds, and I had forgotten how beautiful until Friday's visit to South Cape May Meadows. This wonderful bird gave me a great show.

THANK YOU for all your lovely comments, invitations & awards.
Because they are so small and common, I tend to overlook them. But in fact, when I take a closer look, I see a flower as a flower is supposed to be.
All flowers have that moment of perfection, unlike people, who are best when they are imperfect. Go figure!

Welcome to the human race
With its wars, disease and brutality
You with your innocence and grace
Restore some pride and dignity
To a world in decline.
Welcome to a special place
In a heart of stone that's cold and gray
You with your angel face
Keep the despair at bay
Send it away.
Welcome here from outer space
The milky way is still in your eyes
You found yourself a hopeless case
One that's seeking perfection on earth
That's some kind of rebirth, so
Show me the meaning of the word
'Cause I've heard so much about it
Don't make me live without it.
The Pretenders
On the way to KrÄkenes lighthouse by the North Sea, I came across this magnificent spot. The narrow slide of land near the horizon is actually a beach (picture coming).
The Pennsy heritage unit ducks under a original Pennsy signal bridge in Hammond, IN. I guess it's a perfect world here!
I refer here, of course, not to the photo, but to this miraculous animal itself, this marvel of evolution, so perfectly adapted to it's environment, this stealthily padding expression par excellence of all the power and beauty in the nature that surrounds us.
I love these animals so much ... When I'm blessed by an extended encounter in the wild with one of these beauties, as I was yesterday morning, it is, for me, almost a "religious" experience.

Today I had the opportunity of photographing with a group of talented, lovely ladies. It was my first time working with a team, and it was awesome. Everyone was so fantastic.
