Is this reservoir half empty, or...
Ladybower Reservoir summer 2018. I had planned to photograph the sink holes but after such a long dry summer they were standing a metre or so above the water level, I had to be content with some general views...no wind at all also meant an LE wouldn't do too much...ah well...
Happy Weekend to all of you with love and hugs!

Beauty, its perception, its feeling, to bathe and revel in beauty, is the most complete human delight of which man is capable; and though some have been marred in this pure faculty of enjoyment, by rough contact with a host of unhandsome beings and circumstances, yet sometimes a ray of beauty will pierce to their benighted heart, and send a thrill of joy through their whole being. The man will sometimes catch a faint glimpse of that divinity, and then again be lost in the vortex of utilitarianism. ~T.C. Henley, "Beauty," 1851

The snow followed by one of these now infamous "polar vortexes," bringing real temps (not wind chill) overnight to a nippy -25F/-31C, rising all the way to 0F/-18C over the day....these pleasing conditions to last at least a week.

Created for Mel/Lauraxfire who is doing the hard yards at the moment and to whose connection here on flickr has been my privilege.
Always wonderfully generous with a keen sense of humour,Mel's art which is always inspirational takes you on journeys never envisaged and is just an amazing experience to view ..!
This piece is inspired by the following quotation found on Mel's profile page...
(When the doors of perception are cleansed, man will see all things as they truly are, infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow chinks of his cavern...William Blake 1793)
