Following their move to campus a new academic procession, "The Creighton Pathway" preceded the President’s Academic Convocation on Tuesday, August 23rd. More than a thousand new students as well as academic and University leaders dressed in regalia made a symbolic walk from St. John’s Church down the campus mall walkway to the D.J. The Wansee Center location where the Jewish "Final Solution" was planned by the Nazis. One of the World's most horrible historic events took place in this deceptively beautiful location. Is evil real? You bet it is.

On 20 January 1942, senior Nazi officials met at the Wannsee Villa (built 1914–1915) to ensure the cooperation of the major government organizations in the Final Solution to the "Jewish Question", the extermination of the Jews of Europe. The event, presided over by Reinhard Heydrich and conducted by Adolf Eichmann, has since become known as the Wannsee Conference. Today, the building serves as a memorial and education centre.
