On day four of my train journey across Canada by VIA rail. October 2018. We are seeing lots of snow now.
The window are not very clean so the photos are not that good. Also the train was speeding along at times and really bumpy. I have put all the photos I took on my journey on Flickr as a record of my trip.
(First) Great Western Railway 43172 'Harry Patch' on the rear of 1B28, the 11.45 London Paddington to Swansea service passing Lower Basildon.
Looking back when I roamed the streets with a film camera in the 1970s, from downtown Detroit, to Belle Isle, to Metro Beach Park, capturing ladies in their patch covered blue jeans - many in bell bottoms.

I can feel the summer slipping away already, missing those warm evenings when I could walk along the beach without a jacket.
Pumpkin patch in at Whittle's Willow Spring Farm in West Mystic, CT. Tone-mapped NEF - taken with Nikon D200 w/ Sigma 18-55mm lens and wide-angle accessory.
This barn just fascinates me with all the tin panels that have been used to 'patch' the walls. It's obviously been there for several years due to the rust but it's definitely is a cool look...
Three bracketed photos were taken and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS5.

For those curious: I used one strobe synced to the camera by PC cable. The strobe (an old SB24), had a Lumiquest II mini softbox attached. The whole thing was on a stand and placed on the sink and aimed at the ceiling on a slight angle and manually set for 1/2 power. The sink is camera right at the top of the photo. Oh yeah.. I stood on the bathtub to get the shot.
Behind the leader of EB 36T-16, two of NS's more recent purchases trail, both ex CEFX SD9043MAC's (NS 7333/7332) have recently been put into service, but only temporarily until they rebuilt into SD70ACu's.
The Wisconsin Integrated Cropping Systems Trials (WICST) Project was initiated in 1989 to address issues of sustainability of alternative farming systems. The hub of the WICST project activities are two crop rotation trials at Arlington Agricultural Research Station and the Lakeland Agricultural Complex in Walworth County. These trials compare three cash grain and three forage-based production systems. The production systems vary in crop diversity and use of purchased inputs. Come to the Pumpkin Patch at Seminole Heights United Methodist Church down on the corner of Central & Hanna in Seminole Heights. The Patch will be open 12-8 p.m. Sunday through Friday, and 9 a.m. ā 8 p.m. Saturdays until Halloween.
A long standing tradition after an EVA is to put the expedition crew patch into the air lock.

I saw this pumpkin field while out for a run on Sunday and came back around sunset to get some photos. The pumpkins look ripe and ready for the picking.

This was a little patch of Daffodils in my front yard but they are all gone now.. They didn't last very long... Processed in Topaz Studio with Palette Knife Oil 1.. Happy Sliders Sunday, Everybody!!
A pair of SD40s are in helper service on CSX's Sand Patch Grade in southwest Pennsylvania. The train is coming to a stop at Manila so the helper pair can cut away and return east down the Alleghenies to Cumberland, June 27, 1992. The 8361 is a former C&O 7502 while the 8257 is obviously of B&O lineage.

This is a patch that my husband recently made. He brought it home so that I could take a picture of it. I just have it laying on the back of his leather coat (It is not sewn down). He is the artist and digitizer at Custom Embroidery in Nashville, Tn.
The size of the patch is 12 1/2 x 11 inches. It has 195,000 stitches. I think he said it took about 7 hours to sew out.
My photo certainly does not do it justice!! It has a lot of shading in it which I don't think you can see very well in this photo.
This logo was created (not by my husband) for the American Prisoner(s) Of War (POW) and Missing In Action (MIA) of the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War was from November 1, 1955 - April 30, 1975.
He is supposed to sew this logo on several jackets and on material that will make a Harley Davidson Motorcycle seat.
