Archaeological Park of Segóbriga is one of the most important archaeological sites from the Roman period in Spain. Amazingly not many tourists, Fortunate on a weekday had part to ourselves, made it even more mysterious Only 45 min ride out of Madrid

The Saci by the Enchanted Cabin
Deep in the heart of the forest,
where silence begins to creep,
comes the Saci, fast and tricky,
with secrets he loves to keep.
Red cap high on his forehead,
red shorts shining through the trees,
he climbs the steps of a cabin,
surrounded by ghostly breeze.
He’s got just one leg, but races
like the wind, both swift and sly,
tying knots in horses’ manes,
and making corn vanish dry.
When the whirlwind starts to spin,
you best know he's close around—
causing mischief, stirring trouble,
then vanishing without sound.
Those who glimpse him in the jungle
feel a laugh, then sudden fear...
It’s the Saci clever legend,
from the lands we hold so dear.

O Saci na Cabana Encantada
No fundo da mata fechada,
num canto quase escondido,
surge o Saci, pé de vento,
com um passo bem sabido.
Gorro vermelho na testa,
bermuda de cor chamando,
sobe a escada da cabana,
com a fumaça o cercando.
Tem uma perna só, mas corre,
feito raio a despistar,
faz nó em crina de égua
e vive só pra implicar.
Quando gira o redemoinho,
é sinal: lá vem danado!
Mexe em tudo, assusta gente,
mas nunca faz mal de fato.
Quem o vê por entre as árvores
sente o riso, a confusão...
É o Saci mito esperto
do folclore do sertão.
Parte de las murallas defensivas de la ciudad, se construyó en el siglo XIV, aunque ha tenido que ser reconstruida en varias ocasiones y su apariencia actual es fruto de una reforma realizada a mediados del siglo XVII.
E partiram!...Com o vento, para outros lugares, outras paragens desta terra esventrada.
Saberão o que fazer, meus bravos. Levem convosco as esperanças e os desejos que vos animam.
Encontrareis enfim o monte de lixo que vos está destinado, e onde repousarão, em alívio e abundância.
Se eu pudesse, também fugia deste vazio, mas faltam-me as asas..

Les Terrils du "pays à part" sont particuliers car ce sont des terrils jumeaux !
Grandioses par leur taille et par la vue qu’ils offrent sur les paysages de l’Artois et sur la Chaîne des Terrils, ces terrils culminent à 180 mètres d’altitude environ...
Du belvédère au sommet, c'est donc une vue imprenable sur cette région que les terrils n'ont pas défigurée mais au contraire enrichie et embellie. En tout pas moins de 420 marches ont été aménagées pour permettre d’accéder au sommet et au belvédère en toute sécurité.
Véritable patrimoine historique de la région, ces montagnes noires, formées des matières stériles remontées de la fosse 6 de Bruay, sont nées en 1953 et 1964.
La nature a tout doucement repris ses droits sur ce site minier de plusieurs hectares. Il dispose de nombreuses espèces végétales, d’oiseaux et d’insectes.
Le site est aujourd’hui protégé, et vous serez donc invités à rester sur les sentiers, au nombre de 3 :
- le sentier du vallon (1,9 km)
- le sentier les chamois (11 km)
- le sentier de la corniche (2,6 km)
"le Pays à Part" s'étend sur les communes de Ruitz, Haillicourt, Maisnil-les-Ruitz, Bruay la Buissière, Hesdigneul-lès-Béthune
Le Bassin minier, dans son entièreté, a été inscrit au Patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 2012 en tant que « paysage culturel »

When I look at this image and see the hardness in it, I think of how grateful we have to be to have health, to have people who love us, family, friends, work ... this man sitting alone with no one around and beside of a church ... how ironic right? I wanted this minimalist image to give more meaning if possible to our life, to raise awareness and be grateful for every moment we have here ... on this little blue planet ...

Parte dalla stazione di Pistoia un interessante invio di materiale storico della FOndazione FS con in testa il Bubbolo D445 1011 e dietro la 685 a vapore, ed alcune carrozze Centoporte in livrea Castano Isabella, il tutto baciato dal sole di novembre.

On part randonner sur le sentier du pas du Roc et le plateau des Glières, haut lieu de la Résistance annécienne.
Les amateurs d'émotions fortes et de vues sublimes seront ravis, notamment au pas du Roc. On randonne sous les arbres d'abord, puis on passe sur un chemin à flanc de falaise et des marches en bois pour passer sous une jolie arche naturelle en pierre.
On passera aussi sur deux passerelles, le long du sentier du pas du Roc, pour des jolies vues sur la vallée ainsi que sur une petite grotte et une chouette cascade.
Plus loin, on admirera le ruisseau qui a creusé les rochers et on profitera du soleil en arrivant dans les alpages, jusqu'au chalet du Plan.

The White-crested Coquette. From Station to Station memories still fresh and recorded not only in my mind. The White-crested Coquette, very elusive, very flighty and extremely hard for me to capture. He is very high on my list of favorites and thankful to see him in his natural habitat. I want to back here someday.
