Long day... Madam had her bcg jab today. I don't know who was more nervous, me on how she would react given she is now older or madam. I had to drive to this medical centre which was nowhere near where we live, useful! Also, the fact the appointment was peak time. Roadworks everywhere, and me being quite a nervous driver, especially when I haven't been to the place before. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, both the drive there, and madam, well she was a little superstar!
222 boxes, most with stuff rapped in newsprint. Dish packs - the extra heavy duty boxes movers use to pack dishes - make good waste boxes. You can pack a lot of used newsprint into these boxes, then you can get on top and stomp the paper down and get even more paper in, without blowing out the sides because those dishpacks are tough!
That's N. jumping on a box, surrounded by a mountain of paper that needs to be compressed.

I'm supposed to be doing some much needed filing for hubby's company, but In Design is much more stimulating. Drawing these little blocks has saved me from a mountain of paper. . .shall I sneak away to sew them off to see if they work. Everybody deserves a break. . . right?!
Oribana Arrangement SENSE OF THE SEASON
It's a life-size oribana, about 16 inches (42 cm) tall, we created for a commission recently. Featured origami designs are Orchid Cattlea, Coreopsis Moonbeam, a branch of small apples and pine clusters, all arranged in a black round vase 'Atoll' with in-built flower holder.
Included a little bit of oribana arranging process at the left-hand side of the image... We usually design origami vases to have in-built paper holders in them, so that the paper branches can be inserted into slots deep enough to keep desired positions.

Made from hand rolled paper beads, these earrings are another sample of my work. This set features a long paper bead holding up three tubular beads. See more of my work in my Etsy shop, Homegrown Eclectic.
My piece started with a paper zipper wrapper; found tickets from forgotten events; a vintage alphabet; and a few jokes from our Christmas poppers this year. These are glued onto cardboard which I glued a corrugated cardboard frame to. I stamped the ladies bust onto newsprint, and this does make me giggle; the jokes are dumb and silly and they make me giggle; the found objects were mostly found on my walk, this makes me happy which can make me giggle; and I find safety pins in every corner of my work room, this makes me giggle because I wonder what I ever needed them all for!
I think the one thing that makes me giggle the most are the small wrapped package of nails (.15, at the top of the picture) that I found in my dad’s tool box; it just cracked me up that he saved them for just the right project, and he did, thanks dad!
The pulp is stirred in a large stone tub and the worker uses the screen to shake and stir the paper pulp until a layer is left on it. This technique of hand making paper is a tradition carried out since 100 B.C.
I don't mean to flatter myself, but this looks like it could be in a crafting magazine. Possibly because these beads are made from crafting magazines.
A4 sized paper cut, perfect for a wedding or anniversary present. Each one has been hand drawn and then hand cut, making them as unique and special as the happy couple.
Two months ago I discovered such a wonderful theme like paper lightboxes! I found it very interesting and started to learn this creating style
I wanted lightboxes to be disassembled and made a way to create it with paper, cardboard & PET plastic. Picture sizes are about A4 format, total thickness is 3-4 cm

Found these paper crane by random, walking in the front of Osaka castle.
They were planted in the ground by someone. I found it kinda poetic and thought I had to take a picture of it.
Choosing the best paper for a certain modular origami can be time consuming. But it is the fun part :)

Tara Paper is a recycled handmade paper and paper products unit and follows the ideology of "waste to wealth" and integrates this in every process, product and practice. It was set up in 1996 in Orchha under the sustainable livelihood program for Sahariya Tribal women in Central India
TARA paper is particularly special. It is not only made of recycled and waste materials: it is crafted by the careful hands of highly skilled villagers, most of whom were impoverished women. It creates jobs and incomes while saving the environment.
