I made this for a woman recovering from being run over by a car. The details include the healing prayer "Om Mani Padma Om." The phrase was repeated around the circle, and is even written inside the folded squares that form the outside circle of the paper prayer.

One thing I have an abundance of is paper but I want to make something I had never made before. When I found the templates on Silhouette for paper beads I decided to give them a try and this is what I created. I made enough paper beads and used black beads I also had in my stash to make two bracelets.
The French Paper plant was reflecting nicely in the impounded water above the dam at Niles, Mi. the other night.

365/134 - 50mm class notes. A shirt we had ordered for my daughter came in the mail yesterday. As I was unwrapping it I thought the Anthropologie tape and tissue would be good to shoot with my 50mm lens for class. I LOVE the simple lettering on the tape, the lines of the folds in the tissue paper and the texture crinkles in the tissue paper. I focused on the letters on the tape. This might be a little too simple for me, but it was a good experiment.
Watercolor pencil practice in Moleskine watercolor journal. I used a photo I had taken a couple of summers ago while on a morning walk, this is just down the road from my house. The scan is not true to the colors in real life, but after many adjustments this was a close as I could come. Also, I'm not thrilled with how the wc pencils behave on the Moleskine wc paper. You can tell there's a kind of foggy sheen to the sketch, and the pencils seem to scratch the paper. I like using hot press much better for wc pencils.
