Rock crushes scissors while scissors cut paper and paper tries to cover rock. Strobist: the whole battle captured by D7000 with 2 SB600 speed lights - one camera right at 1/4 power shot through a grill spatula, the second camera left behind paper curl on 1/8 power shot through potato masher thingy. Camera was set to manual mode ISO 100, f/22, 0.5s 105mm focal length.
Took my guys out for making some paper airplanes in the field next to the apartments. Tristan loved it.

I drew this scene one Saturday afternoon in July 2001. I was working as as Lineman at an FBO at GGG. There was a severe thunderstorm that day, so no planes were flying. The airport was dead quiet except for thunder. I was sitting behind the front desk watching the rain blowing across the runway. The other guy working that day was sleeping in the Pilots Lounge. It was sort of cool outside due to the massive frontal system moving through. This is the very first time I had ever drawn this little robot. I guess I remember that day more vividly than I realized. I know I was relaxed and felt content.

This is a re-edit of a photo I took awhile ago. I was really trying to create a series of clouds and the sky, because it's one of the number one things in this world that amazes me every day. I never finished my series, but I've grown so much and I'm liking the re-edits I did to this image. Thinking I may get back at it, and add textures to my images.
I have lots of this colored paper strips (from cutting all those square papers) that I don't want to throw away...now I found some good use to it.
I spent the better part of yesterday to make stationery as a birthday gift. A good way to spend a rainy afternoon.

many of the ideas considered geolocation, personalising the Gormley figures, engaging young children, various "Where's Wally" ideas and many more brilliant ideas.

Chester Literature Festival’s guest director, award-winning poet and author Hollie McNish, is filling Storyhouse with poetry on the weekend of 18-19 November.
Gigantic poems will fill the floors, the walls and some hidden spaces for you to discover! A PoeTree offers visitors the chance to hang up a poem postcard, which will be posted by Hollie.
Poems will be echoing through the toilet cubicles, and free paper poetry roses (made by Hollie) will be available to give to your loved ones. An emergency poet in a real-life ambulance will be outside, and there will also be an hour long reading from Nobody Told Me, her Ted Hughes prized book, filmed especially for Storyhouse from McNish’s armchair, projected on to the big screen.
Here’s a message from Hollie:
My name’s Hollie McNish and I’m this year’s Artist in Residence for Chester Literature Festival. I’m 34 years old, and have one lovely daughter. I live near Cambridge, my family are from Glasgow, and I really love this place (Storyhouse!), which is nicely in the middle of my home and my family! I also really like writing poetry and have done it since I was really little. I don’t know why. I just find it a good way to get ideas out and thoughts off my chest. I also like playing football and dancing and eating pizza.
Storyhouse asked me to fill their lovely building with my poems, so that’s what I’ve tried to do. I know not everyone like poetry, but I hope you like some of what you see, hear, read and watch this weekend! Have a lovely time whatever you’re here for and pick up one of my wee guides to a few of the bits I’ve dotted about the place!

I make all of the papers by hand in Ottawa, Canada. Marbled papers are traditionally used as endpapers for bookbinding, but they have a wide range of other uses such as collage, origami, scrap-booking, greeting cards, framing, box-making, and other paper crafts.

This is for a group i belong to, The paper crane project, the idea is that liz will send 1000 origami cranes all around the world and then for the people who receive them to post their pics to the group and send a copy to liz in america.....she is working hard to fold all those bits of paper and send them out to everyone!
