So, it's been more than a year since I last uploaded parts of my Sanrio collection. I started to break into a couple of the the cases and boxes tonight, but it was really tiring to try to arrange and organize things together (there was not enough room, and way too many boxes!).
I decided I'm just going to wing it, and take pictures of whatever I can wrangle and group together from each box. I'll try to keep everything related together, except all of My Melody and Kuromi will be separated. Lighting's not so great in most of these, and some of them are blurry. It was definitely a larger task than I thought. But if anyone wants a closeup of the items, I'll be more than happy to take individual pictures.
This is the first batch of HK stationery. A lot of this is not worth noting, but the items on the bottom right are one of my favorites. It's Hello Kitty with doodly details, and it's much more whimsical and playful than other designs. It's also a Japan exclusive, and I believe I picked it up some time early 2007.
Folk Art; There is a lot going on here. My son drew this. I drew similar battles forty years ago when I was his age. Kids never change.
The goal of this piece was to captivate movement in various ways. The circle in each individual composition moved to a different area on the square of the paper. The circle was made by forming the paper to fold around the bottom of a cup. The circle is then outlined by strips of paper of differing heights rolled and then glued to the paper. Only the circle is attached to a new square of white paper as a base and then attached to the black board. This was done to exaggerate the shadows formed on the paper after folding it and highlighting the movement through straight lines, contradictory to the circle focus of each piece.

A new school year started (yesterday), so I was inspired to start a 365-project again. I want to picture all my most important memories in this project this school year so I get an awesome 'book' of pictures at the end.
Hopefully I won't forget making pictures because I really do wanted this a long time ago. Behind every picture there will be a real or fiction story (depends on my mood), which I will include shortly in the descriptions.
Story of the Squirrel notebook ~
Once upon a time there was a squirrel. At a night the squirrel said 'hi' to the leaves, but the leaves didn't respond. The leaves only breathed really hard. The squirrel desperately asked mothercat why the leaves were ignoring him. Mothercat answered: 'They are sleeping honey, if you want to talk to them you must wait till you see a bird in the evening. When you see a bird you can make friends'. So the squirrel waited and waited, but no bird came. The squirrel cried and cried tears out loud. Finally a gorgeous pink bird came and asked: 'My dear, why are you crying?'. The squirrel jumped up and as soon as he saw a leaf he tried to talk to it. The bird became sad and mad because he felt ignored, so she left. Back home the squirrel asked mothercat: 'Why didn't the leaves talk? I saw a bird!'. Mothercat laughed and said: 'Honey, the bird are the leaves. The leaves are the birds. They sometimes hide themselves behind those leaves. You can't even tell how smart they are! I have something for you, squirrel.' Mothercat went to her old closet and found a special blue leaf. 'This my dear, was from my old friend Mrs. Birdy. It protects you from bad animals. You can keep it well, or gift someone special with it.' So the squirrel thought about the conversation and waited the next day for the pink bird. The same bird came, but ignored the squirrel. The squirrel said sorry to the bird and gave the bird the special blue leaf. That's how the animals became friends.
