It was a lioness but i made a panther of it

Okay, so I am finally building my version of a Panther. It is a combo of Jeff's, L4L's, KT's, and my chassis. The chassis is already built in tan. My problem is the turret. I want to make an all brick built turret. I have a generic one built now with 2x1x2 slope bricks. But the backside looks iffy at best. Now I have a newer version of it. I just need to decide on the width of the back. It still is not perfect, but it is solid for playing with. :) So which does everyone think, the left side which hides behind the slopes, or the right that sticks out a hair?

Leopard

Data on the distribution of leopard populations indicates that melanism occurs in five subspecies: Javan leopard (P. p. melas), African leopard (P. p. pardus), Indian leopard (P. p. fusca), Indochinese leopard (P. p. delacouri) and Sri Lankan leopard (P. p. kotiya). Black leopards are common in the equatorial rainforest of the Malay Peninsula and the tropical rainforest on the slopes of some African mountains such as Mount Kenya. Melanistic leopards are common in Java, and are reported from densely forested areas in southwestern China, Myanmar, Assam and Nepal, from Travancore and some parts of southern India where they may be more numerous than spotted leopards. In Africa, melanistic leopards have been reported only in Ethiopia and Aberdare Mountains in Kenya. Unconfirmed reports exist also in South Africa and in northern Iran. Based on records from camera-traps, melanistic leopards occur foremost in tropical and subtropical moist forests, but have not been recorded in temperate forest, open and arid habitats.

The taxonomic status of captive black leopards and the extent of hybridization between different subspecies is uncertain. Therefore, coordinated breeding programs for black leopards do not exist in European and North American zoos. Black leopards occupy space needed for breeding of endangered leopard subspecies and are not kept within the North American Species Survival Plan.

A pseudo-melanistic leopard has a normal background color, but the spots are more densely packed than normal and merge to obscure the golden-brown background color. Any spots on the flanks and limbs that have not merged into the mass of swirls and stripes are unusually small and discrete, rather than forming rosettes. The face and underparts are paler and dappled like those of ordinary spotted leopards.

Let's continue with another big cat this morning. The Florida panther is critically endangered, with only between 100-200 animals remaining and constant threats from vehicular collisions and habitat fragmentation. Folks, let's work together to bring back the numbers and allow this beautiful puma to live in peace in the Florida wilds. Please, consider that we don't NEED more toll roads for convenience, and we don't need their land, while they very much do. Isn't it time to share, to do the right thing?

Male panther chameleons can grow up to 20 inches (51 cm) in length, with a typical length of around 17 inches (43 cm). Females are smaller, at about half the size. In a form of sexual dimorphism, males are more vibrantly colored than the females. Coloration varies with location, and the different color patterns of panther chameleons are commonly referred to as 'locales', which are named after the geographical location in which they are found. Panther chameleons from the areas of Nosy Be, Ankify, and Ambanja are typically a vibrant blue, while those from Ambilobe, Antsiranana, and Sambava are red, green or orange. The areas of Maroantsetra and Tamatave yield primarily red specimens. Numerous other color phases, and patterns occur between and within regions. Females generally remain tan and brown with hints of pink, peach, or bright orange, no matter where they are found, but there are slight differences in patterns and colors among the different color phases.

Even though I know what's going on in this photo, there are times when I look at it and see something more than a two dimensional representation of a panther!

Best avoided - this is a poisonous species - one of the Amanitas - easily confused with the edible species - the Blusher A. rubescens.

We took the back roads between Trout Lake and Carson, We hadn't planned on it but along the way we came upon Panther Creek so we had to stop and take a few pictures of our favorite water fall.

Panther Beach, Davenport, CA.

Once again I am up to my knees in the surf for this shot at Panther Beach. This storm dropped a ton of rain but after reviewing the weather forecast extensively I saw a possible break in the weather around sunset. Sure enough, the rain held off long enough for me to take a few shots and on my way out the rain returned.

Municipal fleet, Preston Borough Transport built up quite a fleet of Leyland Panthers in the late '60s and early '70s. I suppose it wasn't unreasonable for an operation where, with much urban running, the need was there for easier entrance arrangements and wasn't a surprise considering the close proximity of the Leyland plant with most if not all of the fleet being made up of that manufacturer's products. Many of these buses had comparatively short lives here though with a large number making the journey west across the Irish sea to the Isle of Man when little more than ten years old. That wasn't to be the end for some however as they returned to the mainland to finish their days with Chadderton based independent Citybus who were exploiting 'Deregulation'.

Marshall bodied KRN 221H and a sister bus were captured outside the garage circa 1980.

Saturday Clyde (Whisle) and I spent a pleasant day photographing four waterfalls near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Nelson, Rockbridge, and Amherst counties. Panther Falls is said to be a very popular swimming spot in warmer weather, so a winter visit seemed a good idea. While there were some ice and snow remnants along the trail, the temperature was well above average; even so, and even though the forecast heavy cloud cover failed to materialize, we first had the place to ourselves, and later shared it with only about a half-dozen young folks who arrived in two vehicles. Cost of admission is driving over a bit over 3 miles (one way) of rather rough gravel road and getting over some shallow water and mud; elevation drops steadily from the road's US 60 intersection and the parking area for the falls. Camera GPS data show 1,334 feet elevation at this vantage point.

Panther Creek Falls is my #1 favorite waterfall out of every waterfall that I've visited. The amount of water and style of the flow is just breathtaking!

The upper viewing deck doesn't give a very photogenic angle so we had to scramble down the makeshift trail to the left of the viewing deck. This included using a 100-foot rope that we brought along. The rope was necessary to aid with several 5-6 foot drop areas.

I absolutely butchered the decals on this model. Sorry.

But there are also some details I really like - like "screws" on the frontal armor plate, supporting the mudguards. The real Panthers have them as well.
