(Puma concolor coryi) Once common throughout the southeastern United States, fewer than 100 Florida panthers are estimated to live in the wilds of south Florida today. The current range of Florida panthers is less than five percent of their original range across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and parts of Tennessee and South Carolina. Florida panthers were heavily hunted after 1832 when a bounty on panthers was created. Perceived as a threat to humans, livestock, and game animals, the species was nearly extinct by the mid-1950s.

Today, the primary threats to the remaining panther population are habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation. Urban sprawl, the conversion of once-diversified agricultural lands into intensified industrial farming uses, and the loss of farmland to commercial development combine to reduce the amount of suitable panther habitat. Other factors include mortalities from collisions with automobiles, territorial disputes with other panthers, inbreeding, disease, and environmental toxins. All these other factors, however, also are related to habitat reduction.

So a week ago was my 16th Birthday, and that means only one thing: MONEY!!! :P So I bought a bunch of new sets, inlcuding the Red Hood set, the Ra's set and the Doctor Strange set (dat Dr Strange <3). So I was playing around with a couple of different designs using some of the new parts and this came out.

Overall I'm quite proud of this design. Wasn't sure about the head-hair combo, but I think it turned out quite well...?! I'll let you guys judge that. :P

On a different note, you guys can expect a Winter Soldier up end of this week/beginning of next, I've written a bunch of issues, just need to finish building scenes and such. I'm also seing Suicide Squad on Tuesday (I know it's been out for a few days, but I'm just too lazy :P) so I'll upload a review of that too (plz be wrong Rotten Tomatoes, pleaseeeee). Anyway...Hope you like this figure, I quite like it, but whatever. ;)

Black Panther is finally here – and what a ride it’s been. I had such high hopes and ambitions for this figure. I had originally planned to have a thermochromic paint finish on this figure, so that it would appear black and then upon heating you would see the purple, however that really didn’t work out at all. I tried to make it happen, but the paint I got turned white, not clear. So that was a disaster, especially as I had already slapped it on the figure.

Nonetheless, after some salvaging here is what we have. I am very proud of this figure, despite it not being exactly what I wanted, but it is what it is.

I hope you guys like it and that you enjoy(ed) the movie!

Made a visit to one of my favorite places on Saturday, Panther Falls, such a beautiful and powerful scene that is hidden just off the road. The water and mist are really gushing and creates a powerful sound that only nature can produce!

Happy Valentines and I hope everyone has a great week!

The road to Panther Creek Falls is as photogenic as the waterfall.

This spectacular waterfall can be found deep in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. At three tiers and 136ft tall, it is perhaps one of the most unique waterfalls I have seen.

A well maintained trail navigates you to a viewing platform where you can see the upper tier. However, if you want to view the waterfall in its entirety, it takes some ingenuity. The need to slide down cliffs and scramble over fallen logs, multiplied by several factors of difficulty after a rainstorm, makes it a treacherous hike.

But after that and a perilous creek crossing, you are awarded with this beautiful view, one that many never see with their own eyes. By happenstance, this particular morning I was treated to the early morning sun filtering down.
